Hi, good evening! In this post, i want to share a review about my current favorite book. Ever since i know that i got pregnant, i’ve been looking for parenting books to read. I do read a lot of books even till now. Who would have thoughts that becaming a parent makes you study harder than school? Not me. Well, i want to share some of the books that really catch my attention. Personally, out of all the parenting related books i have ever read, this one is my most favorite, its also the one i read again and again. The name of this book is “The World Called Children”. This book is written by a reading institute teacher, Kim Soyoung. Since its originally written in Korean Language, i can only find the Indonesian Language translation of this book. I have tried to find the english translation of this book but i cant seem to find it.

First of all, i must share that in my opinion, everyone should read this book. You dont have to be an expecting parents, parents, aunts or uncle, teacher, or any other jobs related to children out there to read this book. I think that we, as a grown up can read this book as a reminder that we used to be a children too. This book might help people to respect children more. They’re not nuisance to people around them. They’re people like us the grown ups, they also part of society like us too. I used to dislike children before, i got annoyed easily when i saw children. I might had it deep down inside of me thinking that children is stupid, how i wish that i read this book long ago before. I might have change my perspective towards children before now i got one myself. I know a lot of people were like me, wether we acknowledge it or not, we are not respecting children as we respecting the people around our age and older than us. But, children deserve the same respect as the adults too.

This book helped me to see ordinary action of children that we cant even notice is actually quite extraordinary. The children is more resilent, strong, brave, smart than we think. This book has three chapter and my personal favorite is the first one “The Children Around Us”. It contains 9 essays and i already read them over and over numerous times. It was so interesting to see the children train of thoughts. It makes me reminiscing the time when i used to be a child. I remember that i have a lot of crazy thinking like that. I remember that i used to questioning a lot of things like that. I remember that i used to be curious to everything i saw like that. I remember that i used to find even the smallest thing exciting. I wonder, where does all that fun goes? Since when did my heart and mind became as numb as it is now? I’ve missed the children in me dearly. This book bring a lot of melancholy feelings to me. While reading them, sometimes i smiled, sometimes i wanna tear up.
