Pushing agaist the tumultuous wind: One step forward, two back. Can’t get a foothold in this deserty sand And I just keep slip-sliding away.
Trying to move forward in this ocean of waves Pounding me back to where it thinks I belong. Thrashing and diving and holding my breath And I just keep slip-sliding away.
Climbing the mountain to get to the top, But hedges and ledges keep blocking my way. Watching for rocks that fall from above And I just keep slip-sliding away.
Hacking and slashing and making a trail, As brambles and thickets cut through my flesh. Not even knowing where the hell am I going And I just keep slip-sliding away.
Then a sunbeam highlights a hidden path That leads to a meadow of silence. I lay down in its softness and close my eyes And I just keep slip-sliding away..
