It's been a while since I shared something with the community, so today I want to show you a painting I made of who I think is the best anime villain. I know that anime is a very broad universe and you would need to have several lives to be able to see them all and appreciate them, but this time I want to be arrogant when I say that Makoto Shishio is the best anime villain. He has it all, pure evil, realistic motivations, and a background that makes him a memorable villain, but what I think makes him special is that he never regretted it. Unlike other villains who reflect on their final moments, we can see Shishio at the end in hell because his wish is to overthrow the Devil and rule, which makes him someone whose beliefs are non-negotiable under any circumstances. For this and many other reasons, I leave you with the best anime villain. I show you step by step and also a short video so you can enjoy the process of how I did it. Let's begin!
Hola amigos de The Anime Realm, espero que se encuentren muy bien, tenía tiempo sin compartir algo en la comunidad así que hoy quiero mostrarles una pintura que hice de quien a mi parecer es el mejor villano del anime. Sé que el anime es un universo muy amplio y se encestarían tener varias vidas para poder verlos todos y apreciarlos, pero esta vez quiero pecar de soberbio al decir que Makoto Shishio es el mejor villano el anime. Lo tiene todo, maldad pura, motivaciones realistas y un trasfondo que lo convierte en un villano memorable, pero lo que creo que lo hace especial es que nunca se arrepintió, al contrario de otros villanos que reflexionan en el último momentos de sus vidas, a Shishio lo podemos ver al final en el infierno porque su deseo es derrocar al Diablo y gobernar, lo que lo convierte en alguien que sus creencias no son negociables bajo ningún aspecto. Por esto y muchas cosa más, los dejo con el mejor villano del ánime, muestro paso a paso y también un video corto para que disfrutes el proceso de como lo hice, comencemos!

To make this painting, I didn't use paper or cardboard. I used MDF wood, which I applied two coats of white paint to, turning it into a canvas for better painting. Once the coat of paint dried, I began sketching Makoto Shishio with a very soft-tipped graphite pencil that was easy to erase.
Para hacer esta pintura no utilicé ni papel ni cartulina, utilicé madera MDF la cual le puse dos capas de pintura blanca para así convertirla en un lienzo y poder pintar mejor. Una vez que secó la capa de pintura comencé a hacer el boceto de Makoto Shishio con un lápiz de grafito de punta muy suave y fácil de borrar las líneas.

About Shishio I can tell you that he was an ancient samurai in the service of the Meiji government, he was hired to replace Hitokiri Battousai, but then he was betrayed by the government, he was shot in the head and then set on fire. Shishio suffered extreme burns that turned him into a living corpse but with enough will to take revenge, he became a demon emerged from the bowels of death to take over Japan and rule, only Kenshin Himura can stop him. That is why Shishio's body is covered in bandages which must be changed daily, they make him look like a ghost.
Acerca de Shishio puedo decirles que el fue un antiguo samurai al servicio del gobierno Meiji, fue contratado para reemplazar a Hitokiri Battousai, pero luego fue traicionado por el gobierno, le dispararon en la cabeza y luego le prendieron fuego. Shishio sufrió quemaduras extremas que lo convirtieron en un cadáver viviente pero con la voluntad suficiente para vengarse, se convirtió en un demonio surgido de las entrañas de la muerte para apoderarse del Japón y gobernar, solo Kenshin Himura puede detenerlo. So I'm painting the shadows that appear on Shishio's figure over his bandages. As we recall, he must change them daily because he suffered such terrible burns that the glands that regulate sweat and temperature were destroyed. Therefore, Shishio can't remain in combat for more than 15 minutes; he risks dying. However, this weakness didn't stop him from learning sword techniques to become more powerful.
Así que voy pintanto las sombras que se hacen en la figura de Shishio encima de sus vendajes, como podemos recordar, estas debe cambiarselas diariamente ya que sufrió quemaduras tan terribles que las glandulas que regulan el sudor y la temperatura quedaron destruidas. Por lo que shishio no puede permanencer en un combate por mas de 15 minutos, corre el riesgo de morir, sin embargo esta debilidad no le impidio aprender técnicas de espada para hacerse más poderoso.

Next, I paint the shadows on the rest of the bandages, including the hands, which I paint brown. Makoto Shishio must use leather cords to wield his sword. Shishio's sword represents his ideology, which is the survival of the fittest. Shishio has a sword that must be fed human blood to keep its edge sharp and rust. This Shishio enjoys, as he exterminates the weaker, unlike Kenshin Himura's reverse-edged sword. The author uses the sword as a symbol of the antagonists' ideas and beliefs.
Seguidamente voy pintando las sombras en el reste del vendajes, incluyendo tambien en las manos, las cuales voy pintando de un color marron. Ya que Makoto Shishio debe utilizar cuantes de cuero para poder empuñar su espada. LA espada de Shishio representa su idiología la cual es la supervivencia del más fuerte, shishio tiene una espada que para no perder filo y oxidarse debe ser alimentada con sangre humana, lo que Shishio disfruta, pues el extermina a los que son más débiles, contrario a la espada de filo invertido de Kenshin Himura. El autor utiliza la espada como símbolo de las ideas y creencias de los antagonistas.

Finally, I began outlining Shishio's entire figure with a very fine brush and black paint, painting the outline line by line until I saw the drawing taking shape. Finally, I added some small details in the background, and that's how it was finished.
Por último comence a delinear toda la figura de Shishio con un pincel muy fino y pintura negra, línea a línea fui pintando el contorno hasta ver que ya iba cobrando forma el dibujo. Por último hice algunos pequeños detalles en el fondo y así quedó finalizado.

What did you think of the result? There's a huge difference when using acrylic paint. I really liked the ending. Who do you think would be the best villain? Do you have any favorite villains? Have you seen Rurouni Kenshin? If you haven't, I recommend it. It's one of the best stories ever written and it has a lot of ancient Japanese history. I hope you enjoyed the video. ¿Qué les ha parecido el resultado? la diferencia es mucha cuando se utiliza pintura acrílica, me gustó mucho el final. ¿Cual crees que sería el mejor villano para ti? ¿Tienes algun top de villanos favoritos? ¿Viste Rurouni Kenshin? si no lo has visto te lo recomiendo, es una de las mejores historias jamás escritas y tiene mucho de la historia del antiguo Japon.
