Hello dear friends of Holozing, I hope you are all well. With the weekend just around the corner, many of us are taking our days off, so I want to share my latest drawing with you. I created a fan art sketch of our cute little friend Woolio. I've transformed him into someone completely different. I drew an ancient warrior, not just any warrior; a samurai, one of the most fearsome and disciplined in history. Woolio is an adult, wielding a beautiful Japanese katana, ready for combat. I created my drawing using cardboard, colored pencils, and markers. Join me in this brief step-by-step guide.
Hola queridos amigos de Holozing, espero que se encuentren muy bien, ya en vísperas del fin de semana muchos nos tomamos los días de descanso, por eso quiero compartir con ustedes mi último dibujo, donde he realizado un fan art de nuestro pequeño amigo Woolio, quien es muy tierno, lo he transformado en alguien diferente. He dibujado a un antiguo guerrero, pero no uno cualquiera, sino a un guerrero samurái, unos de los mas temibles y disciplinados de la historia, aquí Woolio está en una edad adulta y posee una hermosa katana japonesa listo para el combate. He realizado mi dibujo utilizando una cartulina, lápices de colores y también marcadores, acompáñenme en este breve paso a paso.

Well, dear friends, this week I was able to buy more cardstock, but this time it came in a large size, so I started cutting them to the size of an A1 sheet of paper. This is the size I almost always use for my illustrations. Once this was done, I chose one to sketch in pencil only. I started by making the head, giving it large horns, and from there I drew the rest of the body, where I added armor and a katana.
Bueno queridos amigos, esta semana pude comprar más cartulina, pero esta vez venía en un gran tamaño, así que me puse a cortarlas de un tamaño de una hoja de papel A1, este tamaño es el que casi siempre utilizo para mis ilustraciones. Una vez hecho esto, elegí una para hacer el boceto solamente con lápiz, comencé haciendo la cabeza, la cual le puse grandes cuernos y desde ahí dibujé el resto del cuerpo, donde le puse una armadura y también una katana.

To begin painting the drawing, I choose to start with the face, which is somewhat humanized, especially the eyes. So I use a very soft pastel color, similar to cream, to differentiate it from the rest of the hair. My goal is to create a contrast, rather than make the drawing appear flat in terms of color.
Para comenzar a pintar el dibujo elijo empezar por el rostro, el cual es algo humanizado, especialmente los ojos, así que le pongo un color pastel muy suave, semejante a la crema para diferenciarlo del resto del cabello. Así mi objetivo es establecer un contraste y no que el dibujo tenga una apariencia plana en cuanto al color.

Then, to establish the contrast I mentioned earlier, I begin painting the entire hair area with yellow. So, little by little, I cover the entire head. Another important detail is the horns I made, which are similar to those of a powerful ram, and which I paint in a mixture of brown and red.
Luego para esteblecer el contraste que había mencionado anteriormente, comienzo a pintar con el color amarillo todo lo que sería el cabello. Así que poco a poco voy cubriendo toda la zona de la cabeza. Otro detalle importante son los cuernos que le hice, los cuales son semejantes a los de un poderoso carnero, los cuales los voy pintando entre una mezcla de café y rojo.

Next, I begin painting the upper part of the samurai armor, which covers the chest and shoulders. The predominant color for the armor is red, which symbolizes war. I also use orange on the chest to highlight the subtle differences between the individual pieces of the armor.
Seguidamente comienzo a pintar la parte superior de la armadura de samurai, que cubre el pecho y los hombros. El color predominante en cuanto a las vestiduras es el rojo, que simboliza la guerra. Así también en la parte del pecho utilizo naranja, para que se note la leve diferencia entre cada una de las piezas que conforman la armadura.

Then I move down to the armor, making and drawing the forearm guards while I continue painting the hair, which, as you can see, I made very long and tied in a ponytail, like the samurai did. I paint the lower part of the armor that covers the legs, using the same color I chose for the upper part.
Luego voy bajando por la armadura, así voy haciendo y dibujando los protectores d elos antebrazos mientras que sigo pintando también el cabello, que como pueden ver lo hice muy largo y amarrado con una cola, como hacían los samurais. Voy pintando la parte inferior de la armadura que cubre las piernas, utilizando el mismo color que elegí para la parte superior.

The next step is to apply the alcohol-based marker. The marker colors are the same as those I used for the crayons, except that it adds more contrast, and I like the result. Finally, I outline the entire drawing with the black marker.
En el siguiente paso es el turno de aplicar marcador a base de alcohol, los colores de los amrcadores son los mismos que utilicé para los lápices de cera, lo único es que agrega más contraste y me gusta como quedo el resultado. Por último con el marcador de color negro voy delineando todo el dibujo.
FINAL WORK
And so our friend Woolio looks, like a samurai ready to go into battle to defend the kingdom. What do you think of the result? Possibly the cutest creature of all, he's now a brave warrior who has mastered the art of the Japanese katana, hehe. I had a lot of fun making this fan art. Y así quedo nuestro amigo Woolio, como todo un samurai listo para ir a combatir para defender el reino. ¿Qué opinas del resultado? posiblemente la criatura más tierna de todas, ahora es un valiente guerrero que domina muy bien el arte de la katana japonesa jejeje. Me divertí mucho haciendo este fan art, me gusta adaptarlos y convertirlos en guerreros samurais, antes lo había hecho con el sanador del océano.
