At this moment I want to share with you my latest little painting. I've been very active painting on banknotes, so this time it was the turn of the protagonist of the game God of War, one of the best games that can exist in all of gaming. It's about the mighty Kratos, the true scourge of the gods of Olympus. I made this painting on a worthless banknote using acrylic paints as materials. With just a few shades I was able to make various contrasts to achieve a realistic finish. Here I show you in a brief step by step how I did it. I hope you like it.
Hola queridos amigos de Hive Diy espero que todos se encuentren muy bien y con una excelente salud, envió a todos mis saludos y mis mejores deseos para que estén siempre creando e imaginando. En este momento quiero compartir con ustedes mi última pequeña pintura, he estaod muy activo pintando en los billetes, por lo que esta vez le tocó al protagonista del juego God of War uno de los mejores juegos que pueden existir en todo el gaming, se trata del poderoso Kratos, el verdadero azote de los dioses del Olimpo. He realizado esta pintura en un billete sin valor utilizando como materiales las pinturas acrílicas, con tan solo unos pocos tones pude hacer varios contrastes para lograr un acabado realista, aquí les muestro en un breve paso a paso como lo hice, espero que les guste.

To begin, I covered the figure originally printed on the bill. All I did was create a general silhouette of Kratos, just around the edges. After that, the entire interior of the sketch was filled in with white paint to turn the bill into a canvas. I only needed a small, flat brush and a few strokes to cover the entire area. After it dried, I used a 2H graphite pencil to begin making the sketch, now more detailed, with all the most important parts of the face and its expression lines. Kratos always expresses a tough emotion.
Para comenzar lo que hice fue cubrir la figura que está impresa originalmente en el billete, lo único que hago es hacer una silueta general de Kratos, solamente en los bordes, luego de eso todo el interior del boceto es rellenado con pintura de color blanco para convertir el billete en un lienzo. Solo es necesario un pequeño pincel plano y unas cuantas pinceladas para cubrir todo el área. Después de que haya secado, con un lápiz de grafito 2H comienzo a hacer el boceto ya más detallado con todas las partes más importantes del rostro y sus líneas de expresión. Kratos siempre expresa una emoción de dureza.

For this painting, I'll only be using white, brown, red, and yellow. So, the first step is to create a base color for the skin of the entire face. I do this by mixing a larger amount of white and adding drops of brown color. I apply it with a brush over the entire drawn area. After that, I add contrast by adding details to the expression lines. Once this part is formed, I begin painting Kratos' symbol, which runs through his left eye and into his cheek. I mix the red with brown to darken it a bit.
Para esta pintura solo utilizare color blanco, café, rojo y también amarillo. Así que lo primero es una base de color para la piel de todo el rostro, el cual la hago mezclando color blanco en mayor cantidad y agregando gotas de color café, con el pincel la voy poniendo en toda el área trazada. Luego de eso voy agregando contraste al hacer los detalles de las líneas de expresión. Una vez que esta parte ya esta formada comienzo a pintar el símbolo de Kratos que atraviesa su ojo izquierdo hasta la mejilla. El cloro rojo lo mezclo con café para oscurecerlo un poco.

At this point, it's time to add more contrast to the colors, so I'm outlining the lines of the eyes, which always express Kratos's fury. Also, by adding light brown, I'm taking the first steps toward beginning the base color for the beard.
Hasta este puno es momento de agregar más contraste a los colores, de manera que voy delinean do las líneas de expresión de los ojos, los cuales siempre expresan la furia de Kratos. También agregando café claro voy dando los primeros pasos para comenzar a poner la base de color para la barba.

The hardest part of this painting is undoubtedly the beard, so I'm doing it in layers. What does this mean? First, I'm adding a layer that will be the base. I use a light brown color to bridge the gap between the shadows and the highlights that can be reflected in certain areas of the beard. So, little by little, with quick, short brushstrokes, I add the aforementioned color. But not before I also add the shadows around the eyes, which emphasize Kratos's gaze, ready for combat.
El trabajo más árduo de esta pintura es sin duda realizar la barba asi que la voy haciendo por capas. ¿Qué significa esto? que en primer lugar voy agregando una capa que sería la base, utilizo el color café claro para que sea un puente entre las sombras y las luces que se pueden reflejar en ciertas zonas de la barba. Así que poco a poco con pinceladas rápidas y cortas voy agregando el color antes mencionado. No sin antes ir haciendo tambien las sombras que estan en los ojos y que remarcan esa mirada de Kratos dispuesto al combate.

Then I mix the brown with a bit of red, a different shade, to create the darker areas that correspond to the beard. It's very important to emphasize the expression lines, so I also paint the shaded part of the eyes using the same shade. The last detail I need to paint is the eyes, which are a very menacing yellow, the color that large predators like lions and tigers have.
Luego mezco el color cafe con un poco de rojo parle un tono diferente y así hacer las partes más oscurecidas que corresponden a la barba. Es muy importante remarcar las líneas de expesión, así que la parte sombreada de los ojos también lo pinto utilizando el mismo tono. El último detalle que me falta e spintar los ojos, los cuales son de un amarillo muy amenazador, es el colro que tienen los grandes depredadores como el león y el tigre.
FINAL WORK
This is how it turned out. I was able to take a closer photo using the zoom so you can see that despite being a small painting, I always try to make the brushstroke stand out, and with this I mean the way the brush leaves its trail of paint. I think this is the true signature of the artist, which speaks of his style. I really liked the result; Kratos is undoubtedly one of the best developed characters, and since we're on the subject of video games, I think I'll soon do something with The Last of Us, hehe. Así ha quedado el resultado, pude tomar una foto mas cerca utilizando el zoom para que puedan observar que a pesar de ser una pintura pequeña siempre trato de que la pincelada quede marcada, y con esto me refiero a la forma en que la brocha eja su rastro de pintura, pienso que esta es la verdadera firma del artista, que habla de su estilo. Me gustó mucho el resultado, sin duda Kratos es uno dee los personajes que tiene mejor desarrollo, y ya que estamos con los video juegos, creo que pronto haré algo con The Last of Us jejeje.
