With that in mind, I want to share with you my latest creation, an idea that had been floating around in my head for days, but due to a lack of wood, I hadn't done it before. I made a wooden necklace carved with the symbol of Marvel's antihero, the Punisher, that skull that, more than danger and warning, means you'll get what you deserve from the Punisher. The piece was made of wood in a very beautiful shade similar to pine, but its density is very soft. I don't know the name of this type of wood, but the result was very satisfactory. Here I want to share with you, who are reading this, the step-by-step instructions on how I made it. I hope you like it. Let's begin!
Hola queridos amigos de Jewelry, espero que se encuentren muy bien, especialmente deseo que sigan compartiendo sus asombrosas creaciones. Y con ese sentimiento quiero compartir con ustedes mi última creación, una idea que tenía días rondando en mi cabeza pero por falta de madera no la había hecho antes. He realizado un collar tallado en madera con el símbolo del anti héroe de Marvel, el Punisher, aquella calavera que más que peligro y advertencia, significa que recibirás lo que mereces del Castigador. La pieza la he realizado en madera de un tono muy bonito parecido al pino pero su densidad es muy suave, desconozco el nombre de esta clase de madera, pero el resultado fue muy satisfactorio, aquí quiero compartir contigo que me lees, el paso a paso de como lo hice, espero les guste, comencemos!

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I didn't have any wood to make this piece, at least not one that was easy to carve. Fortunately, I found a good piece of wood from which I carved a small, 3-centimeter piece, very thin. I sharpened the blades with a stone my grandfather gave me; it's great for sharpening, and I always use it on different cutting materials. After I had the wood prepared and ready, I gradually drew the Punisher logo on one of its sides and then began carving.
Como dije al principio del post, no tenía madera para hacer esta pieza, al menos una así que fuera fácil de tallar, afortunadamente encontré un buen trozo de madera de la cual extraje una pequeña pieza de 3 centímetros, y muy delgada en su grosor. Las cuchillas les di filo con una piedra que mi abuelo me regalo, es genial para sacar filo y siempre la uso en distintos materiales para cortar. Luego de tener la madera preparada y lista lo que hice fue dibujar en una de sus caras el logo de Punisher poco a poco para luego comenzar a realizar el tallado.

I started carving at the top of the drawing. It's the easiest part to access and doesn't require much skill. I compare this part to peeling a potato, haha. So, with the sharp blade, I remove the wood from the entire edge, following the line of the drawing until the circular shape is completely visible.
Comencé a tallar por la parte superior del dibujo, es la parte de más fácil acceso y donde el corte no necesita de mucha habilidad, esta parte la comparo como a pelar una papa jejeje. Así que voy con la hoja afilada retirando la madera de todo el borde siguiendo el retazo del dibujo hasta que la forma circular pueda verse completamente.

Next, I began carving the lower part. This requires a little more skill and concentration because the lines are very small. Although the symbol isn't a 100% identical skull, it retains several features. In this case, you can see the cheekbones. Extracting the wood here was a very complicated process.
Seguidamente comencé a tallar la parte inferior, en esta parte si necesita un poco más de habilidad y también concentración porque los trazos son muy pequeños. Aunque el símbolo no sea una calavera 100% idéntica a una real, si conserva varios rasgos, en este caso se pueden ver los pómulos del rostro, extraer la madera aquí fue un proceso muy complicado.

I then continued carving the cheekbones, but using one of the smaller blades for this type of cut. With this blade, I was able to model it very well. I also began making the cut that would go along what would become the teeth, or at least that's what it means. First, I marked the entire area with the small blade and carved quite a bit of the wood. To finish the cut, I used a smaller saw blade to remove the remaining wood between the skull's teeth.
Después seguí tallando la parte de los pómulos pero utilizando una de las cuchillas más pequeñas para hacer este tipo de corte, con esta hojilla pude modelar muy bien. Así también comencé a hacer el corte que va en lo que serían los dientes, o al menos es lo que significa. Primero marqué toda la zona con la hojilla pequeña y tallé bastante la madera, y para finalizar el corte utilicé una hoja de sierra más pequeña y así quitar el resto de madera entre los dientes de la calavera.

Finally, the carving process involves making the eyes and nostrils. So, I gradually remove the wood. Be careful not to slip the blade. Even a small blade can easily cut yourself if you don't concentrate. For the nose, I use a pointed iron rod since I don't have blades that small.
Por último en el trabajo del tallado queda hacer los ojos y los orificios de la nariz. Así que voy retirando poco a poco la madera, aquí se debe ser cuidadozo para que la cuchilla no resbale, por más pequeña que sea es fácil cortarse si no se mantiene la concentración. Para la naríz utilizo una bara de hierro puntiaguda ya que no tengo cuchillas tan pequeñas.

After finishing the carving, all that's left is to lightly sand and polish the entire surface until the wood feels smooth in your hands. I then coat the entire piece with a glossy varnish to give it a more striking finish.
Después de terminar la pieza con el tallado solo queda aplicarle un poco la lija para pulir y limpiar toda la superficie, hasta que la madera pueda sentirse suave en las manos. Seguidamente le doy un baño de barniz brillante a toda la pieza para que quede mejor y de un tono más llamativo.
What did you think of the final result? Did you like how the piece turned out? What do you think of the color of the wood after applying the gloss varnish? I really liked how it turned out, although I feel that the piece was a little thick. However, the shape of the logo can be seen very well, so when I show off this piece, I could turn into Frank Castle, hehe, and go out in search of justice. I hope you liked how this model turned out. Qué les ha parecido el resultado final? le sgustó como quedó la pieza? que opinan del color de la madera luego de ponerle el barniz brillante. A mi me gustó mucho como quedó, aunque siento que la pieza quedo un poco gruesa, sin embargo la forma del logo puede apreciarse muy bien, de manera que al lucir esta pieza podría convertirme en Frank Castle jejejej y salir en busca de justicia. Espero que les haya gustado como quedó este modelo, es un símbolo que me gusta mucho, de este personaje pienso hacer en el futuro una gran obra, espero puedan segurime, así no se la perderán, por ahora me despido hasta una próxima oportunidad.
