Are you collecting free tokens on Steem or do you ignore the chance to get stakes in the upcoming Smart Media Token dApp economy? In this post I am throwing some light at the most interesting projects and what you can do to get in on the action for free tokens.
@Appics (XAP Token)
Talking about the first announced SMT feels these days as if I want to explain an 80's or 90's phenomenon to a teenager these days. People forget quickly or new users join who never heard about it. Appics is an Instagram-clone for the Steem blockchain. The team comes from Germany and found some big investors from the middle East. They have raised a few million Dollars in their ICO for the XAP token and the Beta app is already available for investors and looks gorgeous.
If you have missed all the action, they are still running a nice bounty system with automated bots tracking your linked social media activities and reward you for upvotes, re-tweets and comments. You can also create special promotions on various platforms and apply for a bounty. They had the first SMT bounty program that inspired others to follow their footsteps. However, the distribution was rather classical and oriented towards investors, with little focus on Steemians.

SteemHunt is shining with an innovative concept for product hunting. Users look out for new, cool products and post them on the SteemHunt platform. Via clever affiliate links and great Search Engine Optimization (SEO), SteemHunt is able to create revenue from visitors finding these products via their website and purchasing them on the creators homepage.
The bounty system is including many different forms of rewards, including the popular delegation as well as many forms of activity rewards like commenting under interesting products to improve the SEO of the product page. Besides the bounties, you even get regular upvotes in Steem for posting new products and writing comments. They proof creativity and innovation with new ideas, like a fun shuffle button that creates random airdrops for the users.
@ActiFit (AFIT Token)
Actifit is rewarding users for activitiy, movement via mobile phone sensors, to be precise. It all started with a minimum viable product in form of a very simple Android app. The team has grown substantially since it started a few months ago and we have many new features and an iOS app as well. The market for fitness apps is huge and Actifit is bringing a revolution to it: The ability to earn money with it!
The bounty program is amazing and includes a very promising delegation reward system as well as many other forms to earn free AFIT tokens like promotion and activity rewards. Simply do some sport and earn bounties. Delegators are sharing 100,000 AFIT tokens every day which is an easy form of supporting the project and earn a stake. All-in-all a very promising project.
@dLike (DLIKE Token)
With dLike we get a Pinterest-clone for the Steem blockchain. The idea is very straight forward: Find an interesting link and post it, mostly for sharing and collecting content on your profile. Currently, all content done via a single user account is visible everywhere on the various Steem frontends. That is making using dLike not so attractive for main accounts, the same problem that all other SMTs are facing. However, over time we will get better filters to be able to run all sorts of dApps and SMTs via one single account without cluttering our feed.
The bounty system is offering the popular delegation rewards, payed out weekly. You can also do the usual things like promotional content and there are special contest going on that change regularly. Check out their profile to learn about the latest chance to get your hand on free tokens.
@CleanPlanet
With CleanPlanet we get a really interesting concept for a token: Earn money for cleaning your neighborhood. It might sound strange to some of you but the concept is surprisingly successful and many Steemians are sharing posts about their community work to keep their streets clean. There is clearly a demand for changing the world and making it a better place.
The bounty system is limited to delegator rewards where you earn 1 point per day per Steem Power delegated until SMT release (what exactly one point will be is not clear to me). You can also donate Steem directly and earn 2 points per day until SMT release for each Steem. And there will be a 15% airdrop to all Steemians soon.
1UP (UP Token)
Last but not least, I want to add my own project to the round:
@steem-1up is a new open source communitiy upvoting app with equal voting and new ranking list. Communities get smart curation systems for self-organization and the top communities get upvote support from 1UP. With the UP token, based on Steem's upcoming Smart Media Token (SMT), we will create a pure voting token with wide community distribution and high curation rewards.

Conclusion
Smart Media Tokens are a fascinating chance for all of use to create abundance for content creators. In fact, you don't even have to be a content creator as projects like @actifit and @steem-1up proof. Nobody knows what will happen with them and what value they might get one day. It is all a huge experiment but I made sure to get some tokens of all these projects.
Being an early adopter is a promising outlook and earning these tokens for free certainly a nice opportunity. I am looking forward to March 24th 2019, when the SMT protocol is being released by Steemit. It might change everything for us.
