Hi Everyone,
Summer has officially arrived and it's time to get creative with ways to stay cool. As someone who's not a fan of sweating buckets, I've come up with some effective strategies to deal with the heat.
First, staying hydrated, yes!. Drinking plenty of water will be top priority. I'd make sure to carry a refillable water bottle with me wherever I go. Infusing my water with slices of cucumber or like adds a refreshing twist(heard it's a very nice hack), I'd also start consuming hydrating foods like watermelon, cucumber, and pineapple or better regular intake of fruit.
Second, to keep my surroundings cool, I read about some clever hacks. I will keep my windows closed during the hottest part of the day. When the sun sets, I open my windows to let in the cool breeze(this helps to reduce heat). I've also invested in a portable fan that provides instant relief and a standby freezer that'll save the dayπ.
Third, I've opted for lightweight, light-colored clothing that allows for good airflow. Loose-fitting cotton clothes are my go-to choice, I don't do hats and sunglasses, it ain't my thing, otherwise that would've been a good choice in times like these. Then I'd choose my hairdo wisely, making complex hairstyles during summer is hell and exhausting and I've had funny experiences in the past which I wouldn't want it to occur again.
Fourth, when I'm feeling extra hot, I'd take a refreshing shower or bath to bring down my body temperature and might probably add some ice blocks in the water π, yes! Anything to make the chill. My drinking water has to be super chill.
Fifth, taking care of my skin is crucial during the summer months. I'd moisturize regularly, I need to do so because I have a dry skin and I've been advised to exfoliate to keep my skin healthy and glowing. I've also started getting enough sleep and prioritizing self-care activities like reading, listening to music, or simply taking a nap when I'm not engaged.
Lastly, when I need to venture outdoors, I try to do so during the early morning or late evening when the sun isn't too harsh. This is to avoid unnecessary exposure sun's rays. As a student, while in school premises I'd also start exploring shaded areas like parks and gardens, which provide a welcome respite from the heat.
As a Health Education student, we've been taught that staying cool isn't just about physical comfort, it's also about mental well-being. I'd start practicing meditation and deep breathing exercises to calm my mind and reduce stress because a cool mind is just as important as a cool body.
Summer is a nice time, aside from the heat that comes with it, which can be super frustrating.
I believe if I take my listed routines and guidelines seriously, I'd enjoy this summer.
