The last thing I want to see waking up in the morning is the clock reading 4:04 am... SLEEP NOT FOUND Yeah. no shit... Thanks for shoving it in my face first thing.
R went with @stryeyz first thing for PT and I headed in to pick him up. I got there and waited for a while then headed to the room where he was working on learning some of his exercises.
After a stop at the chiro real quick I took R to school.
Back on the farm I was able to get to the harvests which were on the moderate level. Just a few squash but a nice amount of tomatoes and cucumbers.
I had kept pushing extend time button on the freeze dryer since I didn't want to deal with the trays but they were for sure done mid day. 3 trays of tomatoes and 2 trays of cucumbers took nearly 100 hours to ensure they were really done.
J was off school early again thanks to the lack of A/C in the school and he has another today... It was around 1pm when I got out to the truck and began working on it again. Tearing it open again I got myself down to the timing cover relatively quickly.
devised the best way to loosen the crank bolt, used a piece of pipe against the frame to hold the tool in place while I used the 4ft pipe wrench and the socket to loosen it.
J needed more of the id holders so I got a tray of 6 printed out.
Then found lanyard clips that I got a plate printed out.
Our friend's 2 youngest arrived and the kids all went right to playing. I went back out to work on the truck after a break to let my body chill and the pain lower a bit.
Soon I had the timing cover off.
MOTHER FUCKER THAT HURT AND STILL HURTS THIS MORNING!!!!!! I was trying to get the number 1 cam bolt loose, (the cam on the outside passenger side) and it was quite tight such that when it broke free my arm flew back and my elbow slammed into the edge of the body. I damn near thought I fractured it it hurt so bad. It was not fun sleeping overnight as it kept waking me up. I have a pretty good bruise this morning and it still hurts like hell.
BUT the bolt came loose and I got the main chain off. Nancy arrived and headed for the kitchen to make dinner while the kids kept playing. @stryeyz was working late so I kept working.
THIS TIME I READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!! EVERY STEP!!!
These are each of the gears and each of the timing marks in the exact right position.
Set exactly as the directions say, and I cross referenced the other sections regarding the timing to make sure they all agreed. Then I was ready to put the timing cover back on so on went the RTV.
The smoke all around from the fires made the sunset pretty badass. The sun was blood red.
Timing cover on and bolted down.
@stryeyz got home after 7pm and I called it good then after getting the water pump installed then setting the valve covers on to keep debris out overnight.
The second plate of id holders came off so J has a dozen to take with him today to school.
Got a shorter soak but still good. My poor back is just trashed.
Today I get the boys to school soon, then harvests, then I will put the truck together and HOPEFULLY have it running right. I have to deal with the exhaust still but will worry about that if it starts and runs. PDC is on today so I will have that on and what looks like clouds outside is just smoke.
