Before dawn I was up and out of the house for town to get a load of grain yesterday morning and I was given a nice glow on the horizon.

I got to the brewery and had a pair of barrels to load into the trailer.

It was a bit cooler and had a feel of Fall before the day got warmed up.

On my way to town I saw the mist/fog over the field and then on my way home the fog had moved out over the highway. It always reminds me of the tule fog.

I emptied the grain into the sheep pen so I could drop the trailer. The birds all piled into the grain when the door opened at 7am.

I was out in the garden early and got the few things picked. With a morning of appointments I rushed through and might have missed a squash, I will see in a while.

For my reserve parachute packing board I printed out the pegs that fit the holes. This next week I will repack my chute when I can make the space on the floor in the house.

I went to my Dr. appointment and got my referral for physical therapy to hopefully remedy the shit pain in my back and hips.

I then went to America's Best for an eye exam. I have not had my eyes check since 2000 while I was in the Air Force. But my eyes have always been quite good with better than 20/20 until recent years when my near vision has been getting shitty. It was well worth the money for me to get the exam since the Dr. said I can get by with just readers and don't need prescription lenses. Just 1.25 made a HUGE difference. So I have a bunch coming today.

Once done @stryeyz and I went to lunch at the nearby Mexican restaurant which was really tasty.

Before my eye exam my phone finally told me I had voicemails and in listening one was from the Machine Shop on WEDNESDAY that my crank and rods were done!!! SO after eating I took off for Idaho and managed to deal with the crazy traffic. Mike did an incredible job on the parts and I got new bearings with. $380 and the things look nearly new.

After a stop for cheap gas in Idaho I was bombing for home. I HAVE TO work on the sled as the wheel bearing is about toasted. I was a bit unsure if I was going to make it home but it managed. I have to work on it this weekend.

When I left in the morning after the pegs had printed I got this clothes pin basket printing and it took until almost 3pm to finish. It came out really nice though.

IMG_20250808_145801.jpg

The hook I printed at 50% infill so it is stronger.

IMG_20250808_152554.jpg

The hook is able to fit in various holes so it allows the basket to hang on the screw. The holes in the bottom also allow the dirt and debris to fall out.

PRETTY PRETTY PRETTY!

IMG_20250808_155023.jpg

All good and ready to go, I have the piston rings arriving tomorrow and the hone is here today. I have a lot to do but my hope is this next week I get the engine back together.... Hoping....

It was not too hot in the afternoon and I headed out to work on the potatoes. I finished off one row that had meager left then moved to the next row which filled the baskets quickly.

IMG_20250808_163311.jpg

Printed out headlamp holders which fit my headlamp perfectly. It's nice to have a bunch of extra frames as I can mount them in various places.

IMG_20250808_171248.jpg

Washed and drying on the deck overnight I will sort them and bag them today.

IMG_20250808_172318.jpg

Later to soak and a short one as per norm.

IMG_20250808_220633.jpg

Today I work on the vehicles, dig more and bag more potatoes, I need to check the bees and see if the flow frames have anything in them, work on the landscaping numbers, and check the native berries for ripeness.
