Normally the red sky at dawn means storms but it meant HEAT yesterday and it is continuing today. I wasn't looking forward to having to work in it but had a lot to get done.
The garden had a moderate amount of squash ready and a few cucumbers with a pair of tomatoes from the greenhouse.
The freeze dryer was running working on the berries and the first trays came out finished with the raspberries. I had to kick it back on for a while to finish the thimbleberries.
The potatoes had to get moved to storage to get them out of the sun on the deck.
It was mid day when I got to work on the truck. I had to hone the cylinders first.
Then I managed to get the broken tap removed and even managed to tap the hole back to good threads! I was rather surprised when the bolt threaded in smoothly and tightened.
After a lot of cleaning of the cylinders I got the crank installed and tightened fully.
Then the fun of the pistons began. The ring compressor works pretty well and made the task doable.
I got 4 of the 6 installed and will get the other 2 in this morning. I have to finish the head which still needs cleaning and the valves put back in.
Found just this one version available of a Gopro leg mount so printed it out.
At SIV they were using a knee pad with the mount bolted to it but needed to be taped to the leg. This one will work way better with velcro straps. I set the printer going on a set of 3 that I will take with me and give to Andy at my next SIV, that way he has better ones for his classes.
The thimbleberries were done? I think they might still have had a bit of moisture to them since they were still so heavy...
Still I bagged them but they likely should be stored in the fridge or freezer for now. The raspberries are well dried though.
It's getting there slowly. I spent my evening trying to cool off in the house then a much needed shower before bed.
Today is to be HOT again. I'll be in the garden soon, will close the house up to attempt to keep the cool in today, need to find a housing to print for the 7" screen coming today, then will be back out working on the truck the rest of the day.
