The storm dumped a nice bit of rain which the region seriously needs. There are a bunch of fires up north from the lightning. My shoulder and back is still super trashed though the searing pain has abated a bit it still comes back in a flash. The knots are huge, crunchy, and refuse to leave no matter how much I abuse myself with the Theracane.
I went to pick the squash and found one of my honeybees roaming the face of the sunflower.
A lot more squash yesterday than the prior.
Coop Spider has beefed up its web and nicely it left me a walking path so I didn't hit any webs. I can even open the door without hitting the web. It just hangs in the center and obviously is eating well.
A jumble of the peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers from the greenhouse.
I actually managed to get the beets pulled before it got too hot.
Tops off and washed they went to the cooler with the others.
It took me a bit of searching but I found these cool labels. The design is for wine glasses or bottle but I shrunk the loop down and did PLA black for the back. With .25mm layer height it was only 4 layers for the black then I paused and swapped out the white PLA and finished the last 4 layers. REALLY happy with how they came out.
I then bagged each of the garlic in the net bags I got, (I will get a pic today of the lot) and then used the name tag as the closure for the bag. Works pretty slick. I have the .scad file so when I get the next batch of garlics, the new varieties, I can print their labels out... though I won't need them until this time next year.
The next thing I put through the #3dprinter was these 12oz can lids. I printed in PLA white so we can color to our own. I should have done just one first as they are REALLY tight on the cans and work better for capping a can for the fridge.
So I scaled it up a touch and printed a single to see. It fits a lot looser on the can now and is more useful for daily use.
I got the other 3 printed out then.
In the later afternoon I put on Movies. Joe versus The Volcano was the first. One of Tom and Meg's first movies together back in 1990. I always loved how Meg played so many parts. And the story of how the island came to be inhabited is just silly.
The we watched The Truman Show with Jim Carey. Talk about a look into the future we are living now. There are people online now who are nearly mimicking the movie only without the elaborate set, just them in the world live streamed 24/7.
TRUMAN SHOW DID IT FIRST!!!!!
I would bet a number of movies, shows, and stories have have been directly influenced by this movie. White Bear episode from Dark Mirror quickly comes to mind...
I managed a bit in the hot tub but the beating on my knots was a bit painful. Stupid touchy knots really suck big time. Thankfully I have my chiro this morning and PT tomorrow.
Boys to school soon, chiro early morning, harvests to get to, try to keep the house cooler with the 103F temp today, I'll get J after cross country, and hopefully be able to keep the pain at bay most of the day.
