The winds did a little damage, the tall amaranth got knocked over in the garden. It's still alive just tipped on its side.
A few squash and cucumbers were ready which got tossed in the cooler.
Then back into the potatoes to keep digging them up. 44 pounds from the first haul that went to the deck to get washed and laid out to dry.
Then right back to dig the next round which gave me another 44 pounds.
It was an hour or so before I was able to wash the second round since the first needed to dry some more.
It was before noon when I was out at the truck and I managed to get the bell housing mated with the engine and then the flywheel bolted. Such a shitty place to have to get in to.
The bolt for the flywheel had to go in through the starter hole and I put a pair of small strong magnets in the socket to help keep the bolts from falling into the bell housing.
The parts kept getting put back on and eventually I got the oodles of various bits and pieces coupled and bolted back together.
The belt going back on was a big step.
The intake manifold went on around 6pm and I kept plugging away putting parts back on.
7:30pm and I put the fluids back in, both the oil and antifreeze. Battery out of the sled and I gave it a start.
It started up but then wouldn't idle. I let it sit a moment and tried it again and it wouldn't idle, but it did start with no banging of the piston on the head....
It's almost like the timing is off or it might be the exhaust manifolds are not tight enough? The bolts and nuts for them are shit and could be causing the problem. I am going to get new manifold bolts today and will swap them out since they need it anyway. I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope I don't have to take this fucking thing apart again....
I fell off the edge emotionally after the sudden kick in the face and am still reeling this morning. I've been walking back through my head trying to figure out where I fucked up this time, which step did I miss or not do right? I swear I did the timing right...
Today I'll do garden stuff, will be going to check on a water feature mid morning, will get new manifold bolts then will try to get them swapped, it's going to rain a bit soon, then this evening I'll hook the trailer up for a grain run tomorrow morning.
