We celebrated the 66th anniversary of Inces in the following way:
Year after year, August is a month for celebration and gratitude at the institution. There is no story in my country that is not linked to or knows someone who “thanks to what they learned at Inces, opened the doors to many more things.”
My institution is educational. It is attended by all those who want to learn a trade or update their skills, where they take courses and training that are endorsed by the Ministry of Education at both the national and even international levels.
Sixty-six years is easy to say, but in a technological world where education has taken a back seat, Inces continues to remain relevant, and we, the teachers at this school, continue to provide quality education to those who need it.
It is very difficult for us all to get together in one place; there are three institutions in different areas of the state, and the dynamics of our work do not allow us to meet as often as we would like. In this sense, when the anniversary week arrives, we get so excited that for days beforehand, that is all we talk about.
La celebración de los 66 aniversarios del Inces, lo hicimos de la siguiente manera:
Año tras año, agosto es un mes para celebrar y agradecer en la institución. No hay historia en mi país que no esté ligada o conozca a alguien que "gracias a lo aprendido en el Inces, le abrió las puertas a muchas cosas más".
Mi institución es educativa. Acá acuden todas las personas que quieren prepararse en un oficio o alguna actualización, donde realizan cursos y formaciones que son avalados por el ministerio de educación tanto a nivel nacional, e incluso internacional.
66 años se dicen fácil, pero ante un mundo tecnológico y donde la educación ha pasado a un segundo plano, el Inces sigue manteniendo vigencia y nosotros, los maestros y maestras de este plantel, seguimos impartiendo enseñanza de calidad para quien lo necesite. Es muy difícil que nos podamos reunir todos en un solo lugar; son 3 instituciones en distintas zonas del estado y la misma dinámica de trabajo, no nos permite coincidir con tanta frecuencia como queremos. En este sentido, cuando llega la semana aniversario, nos emocionamos de tal manera que días antes solo hablamos de eso.
The meeting was scheduled for 10 a.m., as the program consisted of acknowledgments and greetings. Then we would have lunch and celebrate.
We always sit according to programs or departments. My department is very small (only two of us attended), and the department that deals with the prison system has three people, so at our table, there are extra chairs and gifts 😊.
La convocatoria la hicieron para las 10 de la mañana, ya que el programa era de reconocimientos y palabras de salutación. Luego tendríamos el almuerzo y la celebración. Siempre nos ubicamos por programas o departamentos. Mi departamento es muy pequeño (solo dos personas asistimos) y el departamento que atiende la parte penitenciaria son 3, así que en nuestra mesa, sobran las sillas y los regalos 😊.
The ceremony began shortly after 11 a.m., and it was wonderful to see so many colleagues and applaud and congratulate them for their years of service. I don't know if this happens in other countries or institutions, but here, every five years, their service at INCES is recognized. There were colleagues who had been working for between five and 20 years—a lifetime!
The ceremony was interrupted by a power outage, so we took the opportunity to have lunch, take photos with our colleagues, and when the power came back on, we continued with the awards.
El acto inició pasada las 11 de la mañana y fue grato coincidir con tantos compañeros, así como aplaudirlos y felicitarlos por sus años de servicios. No sé si eso ocurre en otros países o instituciones, pero acá anualmente se reconocen cada 5 años su servicio en el Inces. Estaban compañeros que cumplían desde 5 años hasta 20 años de trabajo ¡Toda una vida!
Cuando todo iba avanzando ¡PUM! la ceremonia fue interrumpida por la falla eléctrica, así que aprovechamos para almorzar, tomarnos fotos con los compañeros y al volver la luz, seguíamos con los reconocimientos.
Once work resumed, all of us who had been chosen as workers of the year in each department were surprised with a certificate of recognition. GREAT! Because I was one of those selected.
Una vez retomada la actividad, nos sorprendieron a todos los que fuimos escogidos como trabajadores y trabajadoras del año de cada departamento, para el reconocimiento con un certificado ¡GENIAL! Porque yo fui una de las seleccionadas.
In addition, they had another surprise for us with the delivery of shirts commemorating the 66th anniversary, which we will wear in our training sessions as identifiers of Inces workers. The funny thing was that of all the shirts on display, THEY CHOSE MINE! And I was the first to go up and get it. If it had been a bigger prize, I would have won it 🤣.
Además de ello, nos tenían otra sorpresa con la entrega de camisas alusivas al aniversario #66 y que usaremos en nuestras formaciones como identificadores de trabajadores del Inces. La anécdota fue que de todas las camisas para mostrar ¡ESCOGIERON LA MÍA! Y fui la primera en subir por ella. Si hubiese sido un premio mayor, me lo hubiese ganado 🤣.

Then, at almost 3:00 p.m., we gathered to sing “Happy Birthday,” toast, and give closing remarks for these anniversary years and those to come.
Once all the formalities were over, we enjoyed good music, dancing, drinks, and food for many hours. That afternoon, a real downpour fell on the city, but that didn't stop us from celebrating and sharing as great friends, taking advantage of those moments of enjoyment that the institution offers us.
Acto seguido, ya siendo casi las 3:00 p. m., nos acercamos a cantar cumpleaños, brindar y dar las palabras finales por estos años de aniversario y lo que están por venir. Terminados todos los actos protocolares, pudimos disfrutar de buena música, bailes, bebidas y comida por muchas horas. Esa tarde, cayó un verdadero diluvio sobre la ciudad, pero eso no impidió que celebráramos y compartiéramos como grandes amigos, aprovechando esos momentos de disfrutes que nos ofrecen en la institución 👏.
