Acompañando a mi hijo Santiago a dónde empieza su excursión al Cerro Copey 🌄💚[ESP-ENG]

Hola amigos @motherhood ¿Cómo están como la están pasando? Por este lado estamos bien gracias a Dios. Preparándonos para el comienzo del próximo año escolar. Ayer fue uno de esos días que me llenan el corazón. Me tocó acompañar a mi hijo para que tomara la ruta hacia el Cerro Copey iba a una excursión junto a sus compañeros del club de atletismo. Esta actividad la hacen con frecuencia como parte de una iniciativa para recoger fondos para el club, pero también les sirve para entrenar, compartir y disfrutar del aire libre. Y la verdad, me encanta verlo tan motivado. El plan comenzó temprano, a las 7:30am debían estar en el punto de partida. Como el camino hacia la sierra es un poco complicado, esta vez decidieron conseguir un Jeep que los llevara hasta la entrada del parque. Desde ahí, comenzarian la subida poco a poco, con buen ánimo y mucha energía. La caminata hasta la cima toma entre hora y media y dos horas, dependiendo del ritmo. Y aunque el esfuerzo es grande, la recompensa lo vale, yo sé que llegar arriba y encontrarse con ese paisaje tan hermoso, con la brisa fresca y la vista de toda la isla, es algo que no se olvida. Yo recuerdo hace un año exactamente subí ese cerro y les cuento que creí que no lo lograría ya she es bastante fuerte, no se cuántos kilómetros son exactamente, pero solo se que es pura subida y sin un espacio plano para descansar. Mientras ellos subían, yo me quede pensando en lo valioso que es que los jóvenes tengan espacios como este para conectarse con la naturaleza, hacer deporte y fortalecer la amistad. Mi hijo me contó que allá arriba se toman un tiempo para conversar, descansar, compartir algo de comer y simplemente disfrutar el momento. Luego, bajan con calma, cuidando el paso y regresan con una alegría que refleja lo maravilloso que es tener vida y salud para lograr materializar todos estos sueños. Me llena de orgullo poder apoyarlo en estas actividades. Sé que cada paso que da en ese cerro no solo fortalece sus piernas, sino también su espíritu. Y como madre, no hay nada más bonito que verlo crecer rodeado de cosas buenas, de amigos que lo animan y de experiencias que lo conectan con lo esencial. El Cerro Copey es un lugar hermoso. No solo por su belleza natural, sino por lo que representa esfuerzo, salud y amor por nuestra tierra. A todos los que organizan estas rutas, los que colaboran, los que suben y los que apoyan desde abajo, gracias porque cada jornada como esta deja huellas que van más allá del camino. Yo, por mi parte, seguiré acompañando a mi hijo en todo lo que pueda. Porque cada vez que lo veo feliz, siento que también estoy cumpliendo mi misión, aunque sea apoyándolo y animandolo a que si se puede. Yesterday was one of those days that fills my heart. I had to accompany my son to take the road to Cerro Copey to go on an excursion together with his fellow members of the athletic club. They often do this activity as part of a fundraising initiative for the club, but it is also a great way for them to train, share and enjoy the outdoors. And to be honest, I love seeing him so motivated. The plan started early, at 7:30am they had to be at the starting point. As the road to the sierra is a bit complicated, this time they decided to get a Jeep to take them to the entrance of the park. From there, they would begin the ascent little by little, with good spirits and lots of energy. The hike to the top takes between an hour and a half and two hours, depending on the pace. And although the effort is great, the reward is worth it, I know that getting to the top and finding that beautiful landscape, with the fresh breeze and the view of the whole island, is something you will never forget. I remember exactly one year ago I climbed that hill and I tell you that I thought I would not make it because it is quite strong, I do not know how many kilometers it is exactly, but I only know that it is pure ascent and without a flat space to rest. While they were climbing, I was thinking about how valuable it is that young people have spaces like this to connect with nature, play sports and strengthen friendships. My son told me that up there they take time to talk, rest, share something to eat and simply enjoy the moment. Then, they go down calmly, taking care of their pace and return with a joy that reflects how wonderful it is to have life and health to achieve all these dreams. It fills me with pride to be able to support him in these activities. I know that every step he takes on that hill not only strengthens his legs, but also his spirit. And as a mother, there is nothing more beautiful than seeing him grow up surrounded by good things, by friends who encourage him and by experiences that connect him with what is essential. Cerro Copey is a beautiful place. Not only for its natural beauty, but for what it represents effort, health and love for our land. To all those who organize these routes, those who collaborate, those who climb and those who support from below, thank you because each day like this leaves traces that go beyond the road. I, for my part, will continue to accompany my son as much as I can. Because every time I see him happy, I feel that I am also fulfilling my mission, even if it means supporting him and encouraging him that it is possible.
