La Asunción dressed in color with Ciudad Mural 🎨

Hello friends @worldmappin greetings with love from La Asunción, capital of the state of Nueva Esparta, in Venezuela. Today I want to share with you that this city was recently selected as the venue for the "Mural City" project, a far-reaching artistic initiative that has traveled to different corners of our country Venezuela. This event marked the twelfth edition nationwide, joining a list of eleven cities that have already been transformed by urban art in recent times.     What makes this edition special is that La Asunción was chosen not only for its historical value, but also for its cultural richness and traditions. The murals were displayed around the church and in the nearby streets, turning facades, walls, doors, windows and even the headquarters of the local orchestra into authentic works of art that narrate the history of Margarita.     I had the opportunity to talk with some of the participating artists and it was fascinating to learn about the process behind each mural. One of them told me that when they arrived on the island, the authorities told them that the designs had to be related to local history and culture. Thus began a stage of exploration, the artist who painted the fishing scene, for example, embarked with fishermen in Playa Manzanillo, lived the task, fished and with that living experience, created a design that honors the artisanal fishing of the island.     Another painter told me that he visited the Macanao Peninsula, where he observed a girl with her dog in an environment full of light and nature. That image inspired him to create a work that blends tenderness, landscape and tradition. Thus, each mural was the result of a direct experience, of a genuine connection with the territory.     In addition to the symbolic content, the project stood out for the variety of techniques used. The artists worked with special exterior paints, brushes of different sizes and spray paint, achieving vibrant effects and unique textures. They did not limit themselves to walls, but painted doors, windows, columns and any available surface such as part of the road, achieving a total transformation of the environment.     Among the elements represented in the murals are the "ají margariteño", a native fruit with a unique flavor; the "catalana", a typical fish of the region; pelicans, Indians and daily scenes that reflect the life of Margarita. Each work is a tribute to what we are and what defines us.     Ciudad Mural not only beautified La Asunción, but also strengthened the sense of belonging and left an artistic imprint that will continue to inspire locals and visitors. Today, the streets speak, the walls tell stories and art becomes a bridge between past, present and future.     Friends, thank you for joining me on this tour full of color, history and tradition.
