Namaste everyone, welcome to my blog! Seeing this topic makes me reflect on my past ordeal with demotivation, and I ask myself, How did I let go of everything? Well, it’s simply because I have seen life as it is. There are moments in my life when I feel bad, when nothing seems exciting, and I just keep telling myself, life is beautiful if you can make yourself happy. I realize I don't! Need to wait for anybody before I wish myself happy. I need to motivate and encourage myself to be the best version of me.
Last year, so many things happened in my place of work, everything was not working, whatever I said was nonsense to the management, which made me feel bad, and I almost lost it. Then I realized the motivation I was looking for wouldn’t fall from anywhere unless I created it. Do you want to know what I did? I ignored them all, placed them as if they mattered no more, and I found my peace of mind without stress. Sometimes, lack of motivation is not a big issue; it could just be anger, laziness, or tiredness. If we can understand ourselves better, we’ll know what we really need.
For me, what I do to get back on track most times is music, movies, and reading books from anointed men of God, especially books from Bishop David Oyedepo. Just get me a cool worship song, a soul-lifting melody, especially from Tope Alabi, Dunsin Oyekan, and GuC, that can shed light into my darkness, and in it, I’ll forget how demotivated I was within the twinkle of an eye. My hubby can even attest to this. Listening to music is my hobby👌
Another thing I do is watch movies. It could be K-dramas, American, Philippine, or Nigerian movies, just get me any of these, and then my worry is over. When everything seems overwhelming, I choose movies to motivate myself at least, and I will laugh and forget my worries.
And the last one is reading anointed books from men of God. For me, this is just like reading and meditating on the word of God. Sometimes, these books are like therapy for a broken heart. Every time I change my handbag, a book must be in it. Books like this help me get back on track immediately, and I am on my feet again.
All these are what I do to motivate myself. Tell me about yours, dear friends in the comment section.
