This topic is critical and valuable to everyone because mental and physical health cannot exist without each other. One needs the other to function. Think of it the way agricultural science explains the growth of plants, which requires soil, water, and sunlight, all of which play their part. In this sense, mental health can be likened to the soil and water, while physical health is the sunlight. No one can say that one is more important than the other because they are both essential, and when one suffers, the other is affected, since they are connected in every way.

Take, for instance, a young professional who was doing very well at my uncle's place of work died last month as a result of high blood pressure. This man was known to be dedicated, focused, and resourceful at his duty, but he took his health for granted. After school hours, shouting from one place to another, you will still see this man on a farm, weeding, planting, and all of that alone without labourers; he barely rested and paid little attention to his mental well-being.
Over time, stress piled up, his sleep reduced, and his physical health began to decline. He fell sick often, and his Blood pressure was said to be too high that he should stop anything stressful, but he turned a deaf ear and just last month, within a twinkle of an eye, he was declared dead. Note: he took himself to the hospital but he couldn't come back alive. Negligence is a killer! His story is a reminder that both mental and physical health go hand in hand and they are important.
**What are the ways to follow through on both without letting either suffer as a result?**
- Go for regular medical checkups: This is a good way to nurture and monitor the condition of both your mind and body. Some of us are tired of being treated anyhow by the healthcare officials thereby allowing us to act ignorantly.
- Exercising regularly for mental and physical health by keeping the body fit and boosting the mind. We are too lazy to do any exercise.
- Rejoice always, celebrate yourself often because joy has healing power. The Bible says, “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones” (Proverbs 17:22).
- Avoid work overload: Overworking strains both mind and body. Setting boundaries and priorities protects you from breaking down, reduces stress, brings mental clarity, and prevents it from turning into physical illness.
**How do you strike a balance so that the health would be well-rounded and not one-sided?**
- Eating nutritious food not only strengthens the body, but it also sharpens the mind. Iron sharpeneth iron according to the holy Bible. However, the majority of us are guilty, we eat whatever we see🤔
- Get adequate rest and relaxation to restore the body, clear the mind, prevent burnout, and improve overall well-being. Reduce the screen time.
- Lean on your support system, such as Family and friends. Having a good relationship is important for a healthier and more balanced life.
- Engage in hobbies you love: Doing what you enjoy, such as dancing, singing, partying, and social interactions, all these refresh both mental and physical well-being.
At the end of the day, remember this: **health is wealth.** Taking care of both your mental and physical health is an investment you cannot afford to neglect.
