TikTok, a bad influence on society

Social Media has come to stay whether we like it or not because technology is not going into the doom soon, so therefore we like it the way it is. We connect through social media, share information, news, and other resources, and some people make money through these platforms, but the root of all evil still revolves around money because ever since money is involved, crazy things have started without any regularization. People are making it through social media platforms while some people are losing it. However, if I have the power to ban one social media for life, it will definitely be **TikTok** TikTok should be closed down permanently. It strongly influences how people think, dress, and behave, and constantly exposes users to inappropriate content. There was a time when a twelve-year-old girl’s sexual video went viral, and when interrogated, she confessed that she had been learning from TikTok. She even had her own page with over a million views and followers, gained through dancing naked and doing all sorts of inappropriate things, all without her parents’ knowledge. That was when I decided to check for myself and discovered that TikTok, as a social platform, is one of the biggest distractions in the world today.  Even though the girl’s page was later banned, the damage had already been done to her life and to many other young people out there. I saw so many videos of hers engaging in immoral acts and so many likes and love reactions were on her page🤔 I would choose to ban TikTok for life because I see nothing good coming from it except promoting immorality. The platform promotes unrealistic lifestyles and trends that can harm mental health. The way it consumes data is not a concern to anyone because they believe it gives them what they want not knowing that they waste time. Many people spend hours scrolling through endless videos without realizing how much of their time is being wasted. Although TikTok started as a fun place for entertainment and creativity, I must admit that I sometimes go there to learn simple hacks or to ease my worries. However, the platform has grown beyond control. If it were properly monitored and regulated, it could actually serve its original purpose helping people learn, share ideas, and have fun without exposing users to inappropriate content but the reverse is now the case👌  Some may argue that the platform creates financial opportunities, but at what cost? The love of money and fame is changing the mindset of many young people. Although TikTok is not the only platform that promotes immoral behavior, for example, other social media like Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat, among many others, also play a part, I still wouldn’t think twice before placing a permanent ban on TikTok. The world would be better off without it. So, if I had the power to ban one social media platform for life, never to be used again by people, it would be **TikTok** This is in response to the #hivelearners weekly prompts on the topic: Banned for life.
