Hello Splinterlandians! Conclave Arcana was released several months ago and has already become part of the Modern meta, but I still haven't bought any Archons from this set. This is partly because I wanted to take a closer look at the Archons for a while and because prices usually fall at first. A few days ago, however, I was active on the marketplace and bought my first Archon from Conclave Arcana: Kaylia Silverleaf! So today's blog post will be entirely dedicated to this one card. I'll talk about the purchase itself, good combinations, and show you some battles I've already successfully fought with Kaylia Silverleaf. Enjoy reading! 😊

Kaylia Silverleaf

Kaylia Silverleaf is a rare Archon from the Earth Splinter that costs four mana. The bonus that always applies to this Archon is that it reduces the magic attack of the opponent's monsters by one. Basically, this Archon works exactly like all the others. New to the Conlcave Arcana Archons is the Bloodline Dominion ability, which grants your monsters with the same bloodline as the Archon a specific ability. In addition, monsters of the same bloodline can also be played from other splinters, such as the Death Splinter. The ability that Kaylia Silverleaf grants to monsters of the same bloodline is the ability Execute, which I consider to be very powerful.

The Archons from the Conclave Arcana expansion are unfortunately very expensive. Nevertheless, I need them if I want to remain competitive in the Modern format. It hurt to spend a total of $36.63 on 24 copies, but I had no other choice and I think I made a very good choice with Kaylia Silverleaf.

As always, I play my rare Archons at level four so that I can play my cards at the Silver League level cap. I did the same here. A higher level would simply be too expensive for me.

Effective Elf Synergies

	I think Lord Thanalor is one of the strongest elves that can be combined with Kaylia Silverleaf. The powerful magic attack combined with the Execute ability is a deadly weapon, as it can instantly eliminate monsters with up to five health points. This is probably the first choice, especially in high mana matches and matchups where many magic attackers are to be expected.
	A slightly riskier combination, but one that can be very rewarding with a little luck, is Silverleaf Ranger. As long as the Weary ability is not activated, you have an extremely powerful ranged attacker who can even attack twice and thus benefit twice from the Execute ability. So it's a bit of a gamble with huge potential upside.
	If you need some speed in your lineup, Silverleaf Warlock could be a very strong combination. Its Swiftness ability gives your team a good speed boost. In addition, the magic attack is definitely not to be sneezed at, and Silverleaf Warlock is particularly useful due to the ability Backfire if you expect some physical attackers from your opponent, who can be countered with it.

In general, I consider the Elf Bloodline to be one of the strongest in the entire game. They are particularly well represented among magic attack players, which can be combined very well with Kaylia Silverleaf and the Execute ability. I could list a few more Elves, but almost all Elves are a good option in the corresponding matchups.

Other effective Synergies

	I know that Decrepit Windseer is also an elf, but I think the card is better suited to this section because it doesn't really benefit from the Execute ability. However, the card is almost a must-have if you're playing Kaylia Silverleaf with a few elves. The reason for this is the Bloodline Tribute ability, which gives your elves a stat buff as soon as Decrepit Windseer dies.
	Quilliun Legionary also provides good synergy. Because Kaylia Silverleaf weakens the opponent's magic attackers, the Void ability can be even stronger. And if the opponent anticipates that Kaylia Silverleaf will be played and possibly focuses more on melee attackers, the Thorns ability can be even more useful.
	At first glance, Grimbardun Fighter may not seem like a good combination. But since Kaylia Silverleaf weakens the opponent's magic attackers, this card is less vulnerable to magic attackers. This allows the abilities Shield and Corrosive Ward to be played more effectively.

Overall, I think that a lot of cards can be combined with Kaylia Silverleaf, as she mainly weakens your opponent's monsters. This doesn't help your own cards, but it doesn't put you at a disadvantage either, so you can play almost anything without giving away an advantage.

Battles

The first battle shows a classic case where Kaylia Silverleaf can be used effectively, namely in the Keep Your Distance ruleset. This is because your own magic attackers can perform well while simultaneously weakening your opponent's. My opponent also chose Kaylia Silverleaf in this case, but had no chance against my lineup. In addition to the three cards I mentioned earlier as good combination options, I also used Meriput Mossmender.

In the second battle, the rulesets are rather irrelevant, but I would like to show you how flexible Kaylia Silverleaf can be. Here, I did not play any of the cards that I mentioned earlier as effective combination options. Nevertheless, two elves were played with Thanalorian Scion and Blackmoor Wild Elf, and I was able to win the battle quite decisively.

The last battle is a bit like the first battle, except that the Wands Out ruleset is active here. But here, too, your own magic attackers perform well and your opponents' attackers are weakened. In addition, I think that the Execute ability gives me a slight advantage in the Aimless ruleset, as enemy units can potentially be eliminated more quickly. Although my opponent played a strong magic lineup with the Water Splinter, I was able to win here as well.

Last Words

Although I haven't had much opportunity to play with Kaylia Silverleaf yet and haven't been able to test every strategy, my first impression is definitely positive and I can recommend this Archon. Of course, it was an expensive investment, but I think it was worth it. In the future, thanks to Kaylia Silverleaf, I will definitely focus a little more on the Earth Splinter. I'm also sure there will be another blog post about a strategy with this great Archon.

Das liegt zu einem daran, dass ich mir die Archons eine Weile genauer ansehen wollte und weil die Preise anfangs meistens erstmal fallen. Vor wenigen Tagen war ich aber auf dem Marktplatz aktiv und habe meinen ersten Archon aus Conclave Arcana gekauft: Kaylia Silverleaf! Den heutigen Blog möchte ich daher voll und ganz dieser einen Karte widmen. Es geht um den Kauf an sich, gute Kombinationen und ich zeige euch einige Battles, die ich mit Kaylia Silverleaf bereits erfolgreich bestreiten konnte. Viel Spaß beim Lesen! 😊

Kaylia Silverleaf

Kaylia Silverleaf ist ein seltener Archon aus dem Earth Splinter, welcher vier Mana kostet. Der Bonus, der bei dieser Archon immer wirkt, ist, dass sie den gegnerischen Monster einen Magic Attack abzieht. Grundsätzlich funktioniert diese Archon also genau so wie alle anderen auch. Neu an den Conlcave Arcana Archons ist die Ability Bloodline Dominion, welche den eigenen Monster mit der selben Bloodline wie der Archon eine bestimmte Ability verleiht. Außerdem können Monster der selben Bloodline auch aus anderen Splinters gespielt werden, wie zum Beispiel aus dem Death Splinter. Die Ability, die Kaylia Silverleaf den selben Bloodline Monster verleiht ist die Ability Execute, welche ich für sehr stark halte.

Die Archons aus der Conclave Arcana Erweiterung sind leider sehr teuer. Trotzdem bin ich auf sie angewiesen, da ich im Modern Format weiterhin konkurrenzfähig bleiben möchte. So hat es weh getan insgesamt 36,63$ für 24 Exemplare auszugeben, jedoch hatte ich kaum eine andere Wahl und denke, dass ich mit Kaylia Silverleaf eine sehr gute Wahl getroffen habe.

Wie immer spiele ich meine seltenen Archons auf dem vierten Level, um meine Karten auf dem Silver League Level Cap spielen zu können. Das habe ich auch hier getan. Ein höheres Level wäre für mich einfach zu teuer.

Effektive Elfen-Synergien

	Ich denke Lord Thanalor ist einer der stärksten Elfen, den man mit Kaylia Silverleaf kombinieren kann. Der starke Magic Attack in Kombination mit der Ability Execute ist eine tödliche Waffe, da dadurch Monster mit bis zu fünf Lebenspunkten direkt eliminiert werden können. Vor allem in High Mana Matches und Matchups, in denen vielen Magic Attacker zu erwarten sind, ist das vermutlich die erste Wahl.
	Eine etwas riskantere, aber mit etwas Glück sehr lohnenswerte, Kombination ist Silverleaf Ranger. Denn so lange die Ability Weary nicht aktiviert wird, hat man einen absolut starken Ranged Attacker, der sogar doppelt angreifen und dadurch auch doppelt von der Ability Execute profitieren kann. Es ist also ein bisschen eine Art Glücksspiel mit gewaltiger potentieller Upside.
	Wenn man etwas Geschwindigkeit in seiner Aufstellung benötigt, dann könnte Silverleaf Warlock eine sehr starke Kombination darstellen. Denn durch die Ability Swiftness verleiht man seinem Team einen guten Geschwindigkeits-Boost. Außerdem ist der Magic Attack definitiv nicht zu verachten und Silverleaf Warlock bietet sich aufgrund der Ability Backfire besonders an, wenn man einige physische Angreifer des Gegner erwartet, welche dadurch gekontert werden können.

Allgemein halte ich die Elfen Bloodline für eine der stärksten im ganzen Spiel. Vor allem bei den Magic Attackern sind sie sehr stark vertreten, welche sehr gut mit Kaylia Silverleaf und der Ability Execute kombiniert werden können. Ich könnte noch einige Elfen aufzählen, jedoch stellen in den entsprechenden Matchups fast alle Elfen eine gute Option dar.

Sonstige effektive Synergien

	Ich weiß, Decrepit Windseer ist ebenfalls ein Elf, allerdings finde ich die Karte in diesem Abschnitt besser aufgehoben, da sie von der Ability Execute nicht wirklich profitiert. Dafür ist das Karte aber fast schon ein Muss, wenn man Kaylia Silverleaf mit einigen Elfen spielt. Der Grund hierfür ist die Ability Bloodline Tribute, welchen den eigenen Elfen einen Stats-Buff beschert, sobald Decrepit Windseer stirbt.
	Eine gute Synergie stellt außerdem Quilliun Legionary dar. Denn dadurch dass Kaylia Silverleaf die gegnerischen Magic Attacker schwächt, kann die Ability Void nochmal stärker sein. Und falls der Gegner antizipiert, dass Kaylia Silverleaf gespielt wird und er eventuell mehr auf Melee Attack spielt, kann die Ability Thorns nach mal um einiges nützlicher sein.
	Auf den ersten Blick macht Grimbardun Fighter als gute Kombination vielleicht wenig Sinn. Aber da durch Kaylia Silverleaf die gegnerischen Magic Attacker geschwächt werden, ist diese Karte weniger anfällig gegenüber Magic Attackern. So können die Abilities Shield und Corrosive Ward besser ausgespielt werden.

Insgesamt denke ich, dass sehr viele Karten mit Kaylia Silverleaf kombiniert werden können, da sie hauptsächlich die gegnerischen Monster schwächt. Das hilft den eigenen Karten nicht, jedoch hat man auch keinen Nachteil davon und kann so fast alles spielen, ohne einen Vorteil zu verschenken.

Battles

Das erste Battle zeigt direkt einen klassischen Fall, in dem Kaylia Silverleaf gut eingesetzt werden kann, nämlich im Ruleset Keep Your Distance. Denn hier können die eigenen Magic Attacker performen und man schwächt gleichzeitig die gegnerischen. Auch mein Gegner hat sich in diesem Fall für Kaylia Silverleaf entschieden, hatte aber gegen meine Aufstellung keine Chance. Neben drei Karten, die ich vorhin als gute Kombinationsmöglichkeiten genannt habe, habe ich auch noch Meriput Mossmender eingesetzt.

Im zweiten Battle sind die Rulesets eher irrelevant, aber ich möchte euch hier zeigen wie flexibel Kaylia Silverleaf eingesetzt werden kann. Denn hier habe ich keine Karte gespielt, welche ich vorhin als effektive Kombinationsmöglichkeit genannt habe. Trotzdem wurden mit Thanalorian Scion und Blackmoor Wild Elf zwei Elfen gespielt und ich konnte das Battle ziemlich eindeutig gewinnen.

Das letzte Battle ähnelt dem ersten Battle ein bisschen, nur das hier das Ruleset Wands Out aktiv ist. Aber auch hier performen die eigenen Magic Attacker und die gegnerischen werden geschwächt. Zusätzlich denke ich, dass ich durch die Ability Execute einen leichten Vorteil im Ruleset Aimless habe, da gegnerische Einheiten potentiell schneller eliminiert werden. Obwohl mein Gegner ein starkes Magic Lineup mit dem Wasser Splinter spielte konnte ich auch hier gewinnen.

Letzte Worte

Ich habe zwar noch nicht all zu viel mit Kaylia Silverleaf spielen können und nicht jede Strategie testen können, jedoch ist der erste Eindruck auf jeden Fall positiv und ich kann diesen Archon weiterempfehlen. Natürlich war das eine teure Investition, aber ich denke das war es wert. In Zukunft werde ich mich dank Kaylia Silverleaf auf jeden Fall wieder etwas mehr auf das Earth Splinter fokussieren. Außerdem wird bestimmt nochmal ein Blog zu einer Strategie mit diesem tollen Archon kommen.
