It was a really busy and exciting day at Happy Customer Supermarket today as 7 new users kicked off their journey on the Hive Blockchain. This was the first class as I take up the #journeyofahivean project. I and the team have created awareness the past few days and just as announced, we took off today. The result is massive both for the new friends and everyone that made this event today a success.

We created awareness
I want to thank @marajah and @michael 700 for their efforts in supporting my marketing plans for this class. In addition to the personal contacts I made, they engaged in a street campaign to help create awareness for this first class. They stationed at the major road junction in front of our office and shared fliers for the event. As a result, some of those that came today got the information. Read marajah's report here. One of the things I did to create awareness for this project is to design a banner which I dropped on my WhatsApp status and seen by upwards of 80 persons. A few asked about it and I got some that promised to attend and join the class. In all, the combined efforts of me and the two friends above made it possible to have 7 new friends join our workshop today.
Hive Presentation and SpendHBD workshop
To kick off the event today, I made a 30 minutes presentation where I explained to the newbies what Hive is and why it's the best web3 Blockchain. I contrasted what is possible on web3 social media with what Hive offers. Everyone that listened among the newbies appreciated the freedom and digital ownership that Hive has to offer.
I also explained what the spendHBD project is trying to do to make it easy for newbies to embrace Hive. They have the chance to earn from each bill they pay for us they do so using HBD. And they also have a free gift from SpendHBD - a free 2 HBD to test out their HBD spending experience.
At the end of it all, I signed all of them up using spendHBD sign up portal. They all got their HBD after I approved their check-ins. They were all happy to have their HBD to spend for the first time. I shared in their joy too as I had the chance to snap with some of the newbies with their branded gift bags as you can see below:
#journeyofahivean Courses
To make the learning process easy and systematics, I introduced all the students to the Hive courses prepared by @threespeak. These #journeyofahivean courses make it easy for the newbies to focus on learning one thing at a time.
I created a WhatsApp group for the newbies and added all of them. Then I dropped a link where the newbies would see all the courses. That made it easy for them to explore the courses.
Because it was getting late and they have already claimed discounts with their 2 HBD spent, we decided to start off another day while they go home and study the courses. But the two twins that attended stayed back and were able to complete the first course which taught them How to create short content in Ecency waves. You can see the link for their Waves below.
The event concluded very successfully and everyone left.

The journey continues
We are onboarding with a purpose and some strategy. These new ones would be followed up and we want to assist them to make their journey easy. We hope they are here to stay and will try to complete as many of the courses as they could.
