Just as if it were a sanctuary of silent screams, this is how I see it, as if it were a panic room.
Hello, a big hello to everyone who is part of this great community, to all the artists who participate in it, and like me, art calms you, art inspires you, it fills you, it gives meaning to our lives.
Panic Room
In a world where we are normally under pressure to maintain a firm stance, this is where I find my own refuge, my own place, which I affectionately call my panic room. But make no mistake, this is not an anti-crisis bunker with thick walls. On the contrary, it is a vibrant space with an explosion of colors and emotions. It is my own canvas for catharsis.
And you don't have to imagine it, because every inch of the walls in this room is covered in graffiti. They are not just random scribbles; they are a whirlwind of ideas and shapes, words that come directly from my soul. Here in this room, where anger becomes a stroke, where sadness dissolves, where joy explodes, each of these emotions and their colors are processed. Red reflects audacity towards blue, melancholy, and yellow conveys so much joy, as if it were my personal psychologist, as if it were my visual diary, which is the place where my rawest emotions find a voice without any prejudice.
Just entering the room is liberating. You can easily notice the freedom and lack of rules, where there are no expectations, only pressure. Each graffiti session is an act of emptying, of draining what oppresses me and transforming it into something a little more tangible. There is also this chaotic beauty that reminds me how constant emotions are, and that is why I give them a space to be seen and felt, even if it is only myself.
- And here I ask all the participants and artists in this community: do you have your own panic space? I would love to know in the comments.
All this paint is made myself, image collage made on EPIK app.
