From Forest to Park Pond: A Tale of Two Sightings

Now, I want to tell you about a recent experience I had at our city park. While I was at the pond, I had the chance to see two birds which immediately looked familiar. While I could be mistaken, I think they are the same birds I photographed back in mid-May in a wooded area not too far from my city. https://peakd.com/hive-194913/@forestbound/feathered-encounters-briefly-seen-forever-held

Sometimes it's interesting how paths connect, or how you can encounter the same animals in different places!

These birds (Egyptian geese) are quite beautiful with their color pattern. Their plumage has the colors of brownish, gray, and white tones with the dark features around their eyes that seem almost to be a small "eyeliner line", with a dark spot on their chest as well. Their legs are a pink to reddish color while their beaks are a light pink too. It's a joy to watch as they swim nicely in the water or forage for food along the shore.

I'm always amazed by the variety of wildlife around us, even when it's right in front of us. Sometimes you just have to look a little closer to spot these little gems! So, it's always nice to pick up these little gems and discover them again later.

I hope you enjoyed the images of these special birds I shared as much as I do! It's always a highlight when I can witness these animals in the wild. Have a wonderful weekend!🙃✌️
