Hello Hive!
Life has been a bit depressing lately, with the pandemic and the gray, spring weather. Things took a decided change for the better last weekend, though. My parents adopted a puppy and I spent the weekend visiting, dodging that generous tongue, and wiping slobber off my hands and ears!
ErnieErnie is a boxer and shepherd mix. He almost looks like a pit bull, but he's definitely more boxer than anything else. And those ears! His perky, cartoonish ears are as expressive as those puppy eyes and funny little eyebrows. He seems to have a german shepherd's intelligence, though. He learns fast.
Squeaky Ball!Sunday morning, he came over to me with a sock, held delicately by the very end, and presented it to me as if it were a gift. Maybe he thought I was the house elf? Sorry... A bit of Harry Potter humor, there.
Happiness is a chewyMonday was back to work in my little town of Mankato with more cold and gloom. It's supposed to snow tomorrow. Still, it doesn't seem quite so smothering now.
On a final note, these photos were all taken with the new Canon EOS R6. I ordered it from a local camera store and it was out of stock but, after a month of waiting, it is finally here! The autofocus detects and tracks animal eyes and seems to work really well. I'm still figuring out the control layout and some of the focus system's quirks. More to come...
