In the last post, I mentioned that I have been upgrading my photography gear. About two years ago, I decided to change to Canon's mirrorless system and, while I could adapt the lenses I have, the new lenses have a lot to offer.
One of the biggest upgrades was the macro. I have been using the cheapest Canon EF macro for years. The new macro allows me to get even closer and has stabilization. The stabilization makes a huge difference!
Grass SeedThe image stabilization works very well, allowing me to get a lot more clear photos without a tripod. This is a wild grass seed, seen end-on. The seeds are attached to long, furry structures that sort of look like a squirrel's tail.
ThistleThe next photo was from my mother's flower garden. The beetle was happily munching away on the flower's pollen and seemed oblivious to what was approaching! Fortunately for this little one, daddy long-legs aren't carnivorous.
Sneaky!The last one to share today is a photo of a grasshopper that I managed to grab while on a short break. I was just about to drive down town for a quick coffee when I saw this one, perched on a zinnia. It was misty and the water droplets stuck all over the poor little critter.
