Hello, Hive.
It snowed over the weekend and more snow is being predicted for the upcomming one. Many people dislike snow; even many Minnesotans. I enjoy it, though. It's even better when you can work from home and shoveling the driveway can wait.
Saturday evening and Sunday morning, I went out to see what there was to see. Here are a few of the results.
Snow is particularly beautiful when it's fresh. It blankets the countryside, smoothing out the bumps and obscuring the dirt and grime. Fresh snow always reminds me of a fresh start; something I could use about now.
The central attraction for these bison seems to be a strange-looking bale of hay. I didn't know that the park fed the bison, as they do have sufficient range for year-round grazing. It was snowing, though, and maybe they were just being nice. This one is from Sunday morning.
After grabbing a coffee to go, I went down a gravel road where I knew I'd be alone to watch the snow. It was peaceful. I could have stayed all day, if not for worrying that the snow would accumulate and make the hill unclimbable.
Sunday Evening - After the Storm
It has been a difficult week, mostly due to work. Things have not been going well and I ended up working twelve hours yesterday. Combine that with being alone 100% of the time and Valentine's Day advertising already being shoved in my face and it makes for a very depressing time of year.
For now, I'll just enjoyu the snow and try to ignore everything else. There's a bottle of Spanish (of course!) wine waiting in the cupboard.
