My First Experience with Textile Paints (Making T-Shirt with HIVE logo)

Recently, I decided to take on an exciting project – making a logo T-shirt at home using textile paints. My son wanted the HIVE logo on his shirt, and it seemed like an interesting challenge since I had never tried anything like this before. I started by searching for tutorial videos on YouTube. I watched several guides to get an overview of the necessary materials and techniques. I was surprised by how many useful tips were shared there! IMG_0559.JPG

When acquiring the supplies, I already felt more confident. I bought quality textile paints, stencils, and a brush. The most challenging part was finding the right consistency of paint that wouldn't seep under the stencil. In total the supplies I needed to buy were just a white T-shirt (2.99€) and fabric paints (5.99€). IMG_0568.JPG

The first attempts were... let's say, educational. The paint flowed under the stencil in some places, and the logo wasn't as sharp as I had hoped. But with each failure, I learned something new. IMG_0581.JPG

After a few attempts, I finally started to succeed. I discovered that the key lies in the right amount of paint and securely fastening the stencil. When I finally managed to create a sharp and clear Hive logo, I was truly proud.

Having the finished product in my hands really felt like this 8.98€ investment went to the very correct place! IMG_0582.JPG This project taught me that acquiring new skills requires patience and practice. Each failure brought me closer to success. Now, as my son proudly wears his homemade logo shirt, I feel like a true DIY master! IMG_0586.JPG
