This first photograph is of a fortress called "Fortín Solano" located on top of a mountain in the city of Puerto Cabello, Venezuela, which is the most important port in Venezuela, with a great history dating back to the origins of colonial America.
The fortress was a strategic point for those who at that time were the Spanish settlers, from there they could have visual contact with all the important areas of the area, nowadays anyone can visit the place for tourist purposes, but in its time of activity, those who ended up there hardly lived to tell the tale, because it functioned as a dungeon, a place of torture and execution for anyone who opposed the Spanish rule.
Esta primera fotografía es de una fortaleza llamada “Fortín Solano” ubicada en la cima de una montaña en la ciudad de Puerto Cabello, Venezuela, el cual es el puerto más importante de toda Venezuela, con una gran historia que se remonta a los orígenes de la América colonial.La fortaleza fue un punto estratégico para quienes en ese entonces eran los colonos españoles, desde allí podían tener contacto visual con todas las zonas importantes de la zona, actualmente cualquiera puede visitar el lugar con fines turísticos, pero en su tiempo de actividad, quienes terminaban allí muy difícilmente vivían para contarlo, pues funcionaba como calabozo, lugar de tortura y de ejecución para todo aquel que se opusiera al dominio español.
The view of the sea and the city from the heights of the mountain is something impressive, to see where the land ends and the sea begins until you lose sight of the horizon, despite the heat of the place, is a journey worth making.
La vista del mar y de la ciudad desde las alturas de la montaña es algo impresionante, el ver donde termina la tierra y comienza el mar hasta perder la vista en el horizonte, a pesar del calor del lugar, es un recorrido que vale la pena realizar.
A very touristic place is the boardwalk of Puerto Cabello, it is like a square but with the music of the waves of the Caribbean Sea, a very relaxing place to spend the afternoon, for the children to play and where some local inhabitants go fishing during the nights.
Un lugar muy turístico es el malecón de Puerto Cabello, es como una plaza pero con la música de las olas del Mar Caribe, un lugar muy relajante para pasar la tarde, para que los niños puedan jugar y en donde algunos habitantes locales van a pescar durante las noches.
Only one street separates the boardwalk from the central area of the city of Puerto Cabello, here we can find a square with some sculptures, the town church and several colonial buildings that tell us a lot of history about the place.
Sólo una calle separa el malecón del casco central de la ciudad de Puerto Cabello, acá podemos encontrar una plaza con algunas esculturas, la iglesia del pueblo y varias edificaciones coloniales que nos cuentan mucha historia sobre el lugar.
In the historic center of the city what predominates most are the colors, balconies and large windows with large doors, very much in the style of the houses in colonial times, likewise, these structures are full of details that add a certain charm and make this area a very picturesque place.
En el casco histórico de la ciudad lo que más predomina son los colores, balcones y amplias ventanas con grandes puertas, muy al estilo de las casas en tiempos de la colonia, así mismo, estas estructuras están llenas de detalles que le añaden cierto encanto y hacen de esta zona un lugar muy pintoresco.
Puerto Cabello is a place with a lot of history, so if you ever pass through this nice place, remember to walk its streets and connect a little with the bohemian atmosphere of the boardwalk.
Puerto Cabello es un lugar con mucha historia, así que si algún día pasas por este simpático lugar, recuerda caminar sus calles y conectar un poco con el ambiente bohemio del malecón.
