**In this game we control Wex Majo, a young boy who is transported to a world full of aliens, this upon arrival and seeing such a situation joins the group called "Wild 9", which are rebels who are in constant struggle against the villain of this story: Karn. And that's the simple story of this game, but as I said at the beginning of this posts, this game has quite funny moments, it is a title that handles humor and especially black humor, which is a very memorable feature of Earthworm Jim, so the developers implemented some of that humor in this "new" game (Wild 9) and the result is more than entertaining. As usual in the vast majority of old video games, the premise is a simple excuse to put the protagonist in any kind of strange or dangerous situation and together with the aforementioned humor, it's a more than decent combination.**  []( https://youtu.be/ds5EiUVq_8I?si=OXM1ZYVHVpX1yf9g ) **Visually it is nothing more and I think it has managed to age quite well for the graphical standards that the PS1 had, of course, it is not a video game that has pushed the old Sony console to the limit in terms of graphics, but still Wild 9 is a title that manages to capture the attention due to its artistic style. We are facing a 2.5D game but like other games, the characters are rendered in 3D, this being a technique used in many PlayStation 1 games in this way the developers manage to create a depth effect in the scenarios that makes us believe that everything we are seeing on screen is in 3D, a fairly classic technique for those times and that would have to know how to do it well for the purpose to be as neat as possible and I think this game achieves it quite well.**  []( https://youtu.be/ds5EiUVq_8I?si=OXM1ZYVHVpX1yf9g ) **This is a video game with a decent variety of scenarios and these are themed with technological elements, many decorative elements that allude to "alien aspects", as well as scenarios with bio-mechanical features, which many times may seem quite weird and strange, but that fits excellently with the graphic style of this game. In addition, it is a game with a somewhat dark aesthetic. The character design is where you can most notice that the developers of Earthworm Jim worked on this videogame, since many of them could easily be part of the universe of videogames of the spacesuit-wearing worm, due to the fact that these characters have very remarkable characteristics of the cartoons. As is logical, this type of tool not only serves to eliminate enemies, this being a very fun way to make them, but also help us to solve various puzzles and since I saw this particular technique that could perform our protagonist, I could immediately sense that this beam could be used to solve puzzles. **Hoy en la sección de “Juegos de PlayStation1 que no conocía” les traigo un video que desde que tuve mi primera PS1, ya hace bastantes años atrás, nunca había oído o leído sobre dicho videojuego y no fue hasta que hace una semana me encontraba revisando Twitter como habitualmente algo y vi un gif de ese videojuego, me recordó un poco a Oddworld especialmente por cómo está situado la cámara, aunque no está situada del mismo modo un así me hizo recordara ese juego y también con sus gráficos que, los cuales tienen un estilo bastante oscuro al igual que Oddworld. Pero resulta que el juego del cual les hablaré hoy está desarrollado por los mismos que hicieron Earthworm Jim y se nota bastante por ciertos aspectos jugables y por el humor que presenta este videojuego. Me resultó bastante entretenido y si no me equivoco este es un juego bastante desconocido.**

**En este juego controlamos a Wex Majo, un joven muchacho que es transportado a un mundo repleto de alienígenas, este al llegar y al ver tal situación se une al grupo llamado “Wild 9”, los cuales son unos rebeldes que están en la constante lucha contra el villano de esta historia: Karn. Y ya, esa es la simple historia de este juego, pero como bien dije al inicio de este posts, este videojuego cuenta con momentos bastantes cómicos, es un título que maneja bastante el humor y especialmente el humor negro, lo cual es una característica bastante memorable de Earthworm Jim, por lo que los desarrolladores implementaron parte de ese humor en este “nuevo” videojuego (Wild 9) y el resultado está más que entretenido. Como es habitual en la gran mayoría de los videojuegos antiguos, la premisa es una simple excusa para poner al protagonista en cualquier tipo de situación extraña o peligrosa y junto al antes mencionado humor, es una combinación más que decente.**  []( https://youtu.be/ds5EiUVq_8I?si=OXM1ZYVHVpX1yf9g ) **Visualmente no está nada más y pienso que ha logrado envejecer bastante bien para los estándares gráficos que tenía la PS1, por supuesto, no es un videojuego que haya llevado al límite en lo que respecta a gráficos a la antigua consola de Sony, pero aun así Wild 9 es un título que logra captar la atención debido a su estilo artístico. Estamos ante un juego en 2.5D pero como otros juegos, los personajes cuentan con renderizados en 3D, siendo esta una técnica utilizada en muchísimos juegos de la PlayStation 1 de esta forma los desarrolladores logran crear un efecto de profundidad en los escenarios que nos hace creer que todo lo que estamos viendo en pantalla es en 3D, una técnica bastante clásica por aquellos tiempos y que habría que saberla hacer bien para que el propósito sea lo más prolijo posible y este juego pienso que lo logra bastante bien.**  []( https://youtu.be/ds5EiUVq_8I?si=OXM1ZYVHVpX1yf9g ) **Este es un videojuego con una decente variedad de escenarios y estos están tematizados con elementos tecnológicos, muchos elementos decorativos que hacen alusión a “aspectos alienígenas”, así como también escenarios con caracterizas bio-mecanicas, las cuales muchas veces pueden parecer bastante raro y extraño, pero que encaja excelentemente al estilo grafico de este juego. Además, es un juego con una estética algo oscura. En el diseño de personajes es donde más se nota que los desarrolladores de Earthworm Jim trabajaron en este videojuego, ya que muchos de ellos podrían ser fácilmente parte del universo de videojuegos del gusano con traje espacial, debido a que estos personajes cuentan con características muy remarcables de las caricaturas. A nivel sonoro es bastante, pero realmente muy bueno, la música debido al entorno en el que nos encontramos constantemente, tendrán un estilo que se puede asemejar al “industrial”, con muchos metales, ritmos fuertes y con bastante acción, además también estará presente combinación musical que hace alusión a lo tecnológico y a los extraterrestres, no sé cómo explicarlo, pero este tipo de música tiene un estilo tan característico que al escucharla lo podremos asociar casi de inmediato con todo lo referente al tema alienígena.**  []( https://youtu.be/ds5EiUVq_8I?si=OXM1ZYVHVpX1yf9g ) **Wild 9 es un juego de plataformas bastante particular, ya que además de contar con los clásicos elementos de movimiento en un entorno de scroll lateral horizontal, donde la acción y el uso de nuestras mejores habilidades a la hora de sortear obstáculos, bien sea e forma de plataformas o enemigos, este juego cuenta con la particularidad de que nuestro protagonista cuenta con un rayo de energía que sale de su cuente con el cual puede agarrar tanto a enemigos como a objetos y lanzarlos hacia un lugar en específico, moverlos o simplemente golpear a nuestros enemigos de un lado a otro para eliminarlos. Como es lógico, este tipo de herramienta no solo sirven para eliminar a enemigos, siendo esta una forma muy divertida de hacerlos, sino que también nos ayudara a resolver varios a acertijos y desde que vi esta particular técnica que podría realizar nuestro protagonista, pude intuir de inmediato que se podría utilizar este rayo para resolver acertijos. Este juego, como dije anteriormente, cuenta con un humor negro bastante remarcado, ya que muchas de las maneras en las que podremos resolver dichos acertijos es agarrando a un enemigo y estrellándolo entre sierras que además de destruirlos, nos permitirá abrir alguna puerta o activar alguna trampa que queramos evitar.**  []( https://youtu.be/ds5EiUVq_8I?si=OXM1ZYVHVpX1yf9g ) **De esta forma Wild 9 cuenta con cierto grado de “sadismo”, pero desde un humor bastante particular y característico que encaja bastante bien con este universo tan raro, pero peligroso. Este es un juego con un control sobre nuestro personaje bastante optimo y no nos va a costar mucho adaptarnos a las mecánicas principales ya que en términos generales sigue siendo un juego de plataformas bastante convencional, solo que esta vez tenemos mucha más ventaja al contar con un arma que nos da la capacidad de controlar objetos y enemigos. Es definitiva para mi esta es un joya de la PS1, la cual lastimosamente tardé demasiados años en jugar y en descubrir, ya que estoy seguro que si lo hubiese jugado de joven, debido a ese humor negro tan característico y su nivel de violencia tan marcado, podría haber sido uno de mis juegos favoritos de la PlayStation 1 o al menos uno de esos juegos a los que les guardo bastante aprecio y buenas memorias.**  []( https://youtu.be/ds5EiUVq_8I?si=OXM1ZYVHVpX1yf9g )
