Hello everyone! Today I'm bringing you a very special design inspired by Bulbasaur, that little Pokémon so beloved by the fan community. This version has a charming autumnal style, with a pumpkin instead of its classic bulb, and was created as a cute decoration to close out this creative season.
La idea surgió mientras mi pareja y yo navegábamos por internet. A él le encantan los Pokémon, y cuando vimos una imagen de Bulbasaur con una calabaza en la espalda, simplemente dije: “¡Ay, vamos a recrearlo en foami!” Quería ver si lograba captar bien sus detalles y cómo me quedaría. Lo primero que hice fue dibujar las siluetas en una hoja de papel, y luego las pasé al foami verde oscuro para comenzar a darle vida.
The idea came to me while my partner and I were browsing the internet. He loves Pokémon, and when we saw a picture of Bulbasaur with a pumpkin on its back, I just said, "Oh, let's recreate it out of foam!" I wanted to see if I could capture the details and how it would turn out. The first thing I did was draw the outlines on a piece of paper, and then I transferred them to the dark green foam to start bringing it to life.

- Dibujé las siluetas en papel y luego pasé el foami verde:
Comencé trazando la forma de Bulbasaur en papel, cuidando sus proporciones y expresión. Luego corté el foami verde oscuro siguiendo el diseñoI drew the silhouettes on paper and then traced them onto the green foam sheet:
I started by tracing Bulbasaur's shape on paper, paying attention to its proportions and expression. Then I cut out the dark green foam sheet following the design.
- Sombreado y contornos:
Utilicé tres tipos de marcadores verdes para darle profundidad. Con ellos sombreé las orillas de su cabecita y cuerpo. El marcador negro fue esencial para definir la boca y otros detalles.
Shading and Outlines:
I used three types of green markers to give it depth. With them, I shaded the edges of its head and body. The black marker was essential for defining the mouth and other details.
- Dientes y garras:
Con foami blanco recorté pequeños triángulos que coloqué como dientecitos y garras. Este detalle le da un toque adorable.
Teeth and claws:
I cut out small triangles from white foam and placed them as little teeth and claws. This detail adds an adorable touch.
- Ojitos expresivos:
Recorté dos figuras imperfectas, una semicircular y otra más redondeada. Usé marcador naranja en dos tonalidades y amarillo para crear reflejos. El negro ayudó a definir el contorno y dar profundidad. ¡Los ojos son el alma de esta figura!
Expressive eyes:
I cut out two imperfect shapes, one semicircular and the other more rounded. I used orange markers in two shades and yellow to create highlights. Black helped define the outline and add depth. The eyes are the soul of this figure!
- La calabaza mágica:
En lugar del bulbo clásico, le coloqué una calabaza. La recorté en foami naranja y la decoré con marcador negro, creando una carita espeluznante pero simpática. El tallo lo hice en verde y lo resalté con marcador para darle textura.
The Magic Pumpkin:
Instead of the classic bulb, I used a pumpkin. I cut it out of orange foam and decorated it with a black marker, creating a spooky but cute face. I made the stem green and highlighted it with a marker to give it texture.
- Textura y detalles finales:
Con un marcador negro de punta fina, dibujé pequeñas líneas alrededor del cuerpo para simular relieve. También añadí formas en foami verde claro en distintas partes del cuerpo, como si fueran manchas o escamas. Este toque es opcional, pero complementa muy bien el diseño.
Texture and final details:
Using a fine-tipped black marker, I drew small lines around the body to simulate relief. I also added light green foam shapes to different parts of the body, like spots or scales. This touch is optional, but it complements the design very well.
