Saludos hivers de #HivePets, ¿Como estuvo su semana? la nuestra algo agitada y con muchas cosas por hacer, pero ahora que llegó el fin de semana, puedo contarles de otro caso de rescate que hicimos hace unos días atrás. Déjenme contarle la historia de estas gallinitas.
Greetings, hivers from #HivePets. How was your week? Ours was a bit hectic with lots of things to do, but now that the weekend is here, I can tell you about another rescue case we worked on a few days ago. Let me tell you the story of these little chickens.
Todo empezó cuando uno de los gallos se pasó un día al lado de nosotras, en uno de los anexos que tenemos alquilados, por lo que nos dispusimos a darles comida y atenderlos. A los pocos días llegó la gallinita detrás de su gallo. A quien también acogimos con mucho gusto.
Mientras se quedaban con nosotras, un día sin previo aviso, encontramos al gallo muerto. Al parecer le habían dado una pedrada en la cabeza. Y bueno, nos quedó solamente la gallinita y a los días, de repente apareció con sus 8 pollitos. Pasaron más días y nos llegó otra gallinita la cual también tuvo 8 pollitos.
> It all started when one of the roosters stayed with us one day in one of our rented annexes, so we decided to feed and care for them. A few days later, the hen arrived after her rooster, whom we also gladly welcomed.

> While they were staying with us, one day, without warning, we found the rooster dead. Apparently, he'd been hit in the head by a rock. Well, we were left with only the hen, and a few days later, she suddenly appeared with her eight chicks. More days passed, and another hen arrived, which also had eight chicks.
Nos dimos cuenta de que el gallo que mataron resultó ser el padrote de estos pollitos. Y bueno, los hechos trágicos no terminaron allí. Como los pollitos seguían a su mamá y esta se la pasaba más en el monte que donde los habíamos acogido, cada pollito fue desapareciendo.
Concluimos que fueron los animales de la zona los que se los fueron comiendo o los fueron matando, algún gato callejero y también creemos que se robaron algunos. Y al ver toda esta situación perturbante para las gallinitas, decidimos hablar con sus dueños.
> We realized that the rooster they killed turned out to be the sire of these chicks. And well, the tragic events didn't end there. Since the chicks followed their mother, who spent more time in the woods than where we had taken them, each chick disappeared.

> We concluded that the local animals were eating or killing them, some stray cats, and we also believe some were stolen. Seeing this disturbing situation for the hens, we decided to talk to their owners.
Al hablar con ellos nos informaron que los gallos que ellos criaban eran de pelea. Son gallos y gallinas criollas, pero a los machos los usaban para pelear mientras que a las hembras se las comían.
Al enterarnos de esto, nos dio de todo porque ya nosotras le teníamos mucho aprecio a las aves que llevábamos cuidando y por ello decidimos ofrecerle al dueño comprarle todas sus gallinas y gallos para rescatarlos y sacarlos de allí.
> When we spoke to them, they told us that the roosters they raised were fighting roosters. They're native roosters and hens, but the males were used for fighting while the females were eaten.

> When we learned this, we were thrilled because we already had a great affection for the birds we were caring for, and so we decided to offer to buy all his hens and roosters from the owner so we could rescue them and get them out of there.

Como era de esperarse y viendo para qué eran criados, tuvimos que abogar por ellos y también les hicimos una charla para que cambiaran su punto de vista sobre estos animales. Para que dejaran de poner a pelear a los gallitos, que eso no se hace y es considerado crueldad animal
Al final accedieron a vendernos sus gallos y gallinas, incluidos los pollitos, y al ponerlos todos juntos nos llevamos una gran sorpresa al ver que a tan corta edad empezaron a pelear entre ellos mismos con mucha violencia.
> As expected, given what they were bred for, we had to advocate for them and also gave them a talk to change their perspective on these animals. We wanted them to stop putting the roosters to fight, which is not allowed and is considered animal cruelty.
>
> In the end, they agreed to sell us their roosters and hens, including the chicks. When we put them all together, we were very surprised to see that at such a young age, they began to fight each other quite violently.

Aquí pueden ver cómo quedaron estos pollitos desde tan chiquitos, luego de haber peleado entre ellos. Y ya con esto preferimos mantenerlos a todos por separado. Gracias a Dios, cada uno de ellos se recuperó, los llevamos al veterinario, sanaron sus heridas y hoy por hoy están viviendo una vida más pacífica y feliz.
Luego de haber comprado a estos animalitos de su antiguo dueño, quedaban en total 8 pollitos y 9 gallinas, pero mientras estábamos arreglando el espacio que sería destinado para que estuvieran cómodas y tranquilas, con bastante espacio para que caminaran sin problemas, nos robaron 1 de las gallinitas con 2 pollitos.
> Here you can see how these chicks fared from such a young age, after fighting among themselves. Now, we prefer to keep them all separate. Thankfully, each of them recovered. We took them to the vet, and their wounds healed. Today, they're living a more peaceful and happy life.

> After we bought these animals from their previous owner, there were a total of 8 chicks and 9 hens left. But while we were arranging the space that would be used for them to be comfortable and calm, with plenty of room for them to walk around without problems, one of the hens was stolen with 2 chicks.

Y sabíamos que fueron sus antiguos dueños quienes nos los robaron. Ellos negaron todo, no nos quisieron devolver a las aves de corral. Sabíamos que ellos las tenían porque no había manera de que ellas se escaparan de donde las teníamos resguardadas, además pudimos notar que ellos se metieron y se las llevaron.
Así que al final solo pudimos salvar de esta gente malvada una sola gallina con dos pollitos de ella y cuatro de la otra que se robaron. Y esos son los que tenemos ahorita. Unos gallitos preciosos, consentidos y muy cariñosos que viven felices y en paz a nuestro lado.
> And we knew it was their former owners who stole them from us. They denied everything; they didn't want to give us back the birds. We knew they had them because there was no way they could escape from where we had them protected, and we could see that they had gotten in and taken them.
>
> So in the end, we were only able to save from these evil people a single hen, with two of her chicks, and four from the other one they stole. And those are the ones we have now. Beautiful, pampered, and very affectionate roosters who live happily and peacefully by our side.
