We all have a unique story behind our username. Sometimes I even get curious when I come across a username that I wish to know about those stories that inspire them. I have read some of my Hivers friends share their stories in the past, and this [Contest](https://peakd.com/hive-124452/@thekittygirl/name-challenge-revived) is inviting us to tell our stories, so come in and have fun. Also, do well to check the link to learn more about the few rules. They are very simple to follow.

If you ever get curious about why the username *Funshee*, come along, I shall spill all the tea ☕ without holding back hehe.
> Fun fact about my username
When I joined Hive in 2021, I had wanted to use the name *Babans*. It was the nickname my dad gave me when I was little. I was such a chubby toddler as at then, so chubby I couldn't walk from inside our room to the sitting room without falling down. My legs were so fat they kept on rubbing each other, so I usually fell down when I tried to walk. My dad gave me the name *Babans*, which reflected that, and everyone soon adopted the name.
The nickname grew up with me even after losing all that fat, and I kind of loved it. In fact, I was obsessed with the name simply because it was my dad that gave me the name.
I had planned on using *Babans*, but then the God of Hive had something different in store for me. After going back and forth for days with my referral, trying to create my account without headway, at some point he told me if I didn’t mind, I could use a pre-existing account he had opened for one of his friends a month earlier, but the friend wasn’t ready to learn how the platform works, not to talk of starting to use it.
The first thing I asked him was, “What is the username?” He said it’s *Funshee*. It is a derivative of his friend’s name, *Folorunsho*, a Yoruba name translated to “the one who is guided by God.” I love most Yoruba names because of their beautiful meanings, and *Folorunsho* was one of those names.
I just smiled. I told him I love being guided by God. He sent me a file containing *Funshee* and the keys. He taught me how to change the keys, which I did immediately.

I started commenting and began my blogging journey on Hive with the username *Funshee*. I love it very much because, aside from the beautiful name it was derived from, it sounds fun 😊 to me. Some might even think it was derived from *fun* and *she*.
Not so long, this name has become my identity—a representation of my personality. It’s no longer just a username anymore. So if you ask me, I will say this username chose me, and I love every bit of it.
Will I change it if I have the chance? I don’t think I would want to do that now, because it has become part of who I am on the blockchain—it’s my digital footprint.
For the following friends I haven’t read about their username stories, so I’m curious: What is the unique story behind your names? Dear @cagolistic, @ozd, @dwixer, @maiasun84, @roswelborges, I will be glad to read your stories.
