If you're visiting Cyprus and looking for the perfect beach escape, Coral Bay should definitely be on your list. Located just about 12 kilometers north of Paphos, this stunning cove is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the region.
(German) Wer auf Zypern unterwegs ist und sich nach einer perfekten Strandkulisse sehnt, sollte unbedingt einen Abstecher nach Coral Bay machen. Diese traumhafte Bucht liegt nur etwa 12 Kilometer nördlich von Paphos und gilt nicht umsonst als einer der schönsten Strände der Region.
Golden sand and turquoise water – simply ideal
The beach itself is a crescent-shaped bay with fine, soft sand and calm, crystal-clear water. It’s ideal for swimming, snorkeling, or just relaxing. Thanks to the gently sloping seabed, even less experienced swimmers or families with kids can feel safe here.
(German) Der Coral Bay Beach ist eine sichelförmige Bucht mit feinem, hellem Sand und ruhigem, kristallklarem Wasser – ideal zum Baden, Schnorcheln oder einfach nur Relaxen. Die sanft abfallende Küste lädt auch weniger geübte Schwimmer:innen zum Baden ein.
Nature meets comfort
Coral Bay strikes a perfect balance between natural beauty and visitor comfort. You’ll find sunbeds, umbrellas, and a few beach bars and tavernas serving fresh local dishes – from grilled fish to authentic halloumi. Still, it never feels overcrowded, especially in the early morning or toward sunset.
(German) Was Coral Bay so besonders macht, ist die gelungene Mischung aus natürlicher Schönheit und touristischem Komfort. Es gibt Sonnenliegen, Schirme und kleine Tavernen mit lokalen Spezialitäten – von frischem Fisch bis zu echtem Halloumi. Trotzdem wirkt der Strand nie überlaufen, besonders in den Morgen- oder Abendstunden.
Exploring the surroundings
Not far from the sandy part of the beach, the coast turns rockier – a great place for a walk or to just sit and take in the view. That's where I spotted a lizard watching me from a sunny rock. A curious little moment that reminded me how alive this place is.
(German) Nicht weit vom Strand beginnt eine eher felsige Landschaft mit kleinen Wegen – perfekt für einen Spaziergang oder einen ruhigen Moment mit Blick aufs Meer. Dort entdeckte ich auch eine Echse, die mich ganz interessiert anschaute.
