Hello friends, it's great to be posting in the community again. A while back, I posted a Weedle figurine here in the community. It's the initial form of a Pokémon called Beedrill. **You can see the post about the Weedle figurine at the link below** https://peakd.com/hive-158489/@gaboamc2393/diy-weedle-sculpture-eng-spa Well, Weedle's evolution is another insect Pokémon called Kakuna, which is the chrysalis stage of this Pokémon, a transition between Weedle and Beedrill. It's a Pokémon that I've always found interesting, so I'd like to invite you to join me in the DIY of this character. >># Español >>Saludos amigos, un gusto volver a publicar en la comunidad. Es un Pokémon que siempre me ha parecido interesante, así que me gustaría invitarlos a acompañarme en el DIY de este personaje.  # Step by step The first thing I did with this figurine was to make the head, as this would allow me to determine its final size. Since it is a Weedle chrysalis, I didn't make it too different in size from that. In the image below, you can see the shape I molded for Kakuna's head. >># Paso a paso >>Lo primero que hice con esta figurita fue fabricar la cabeza, pues esto me permitiría dimensionar el tamaño final que tendría, ya que al ser una crisálida de Weedle no lo hice de un tamaño tan diferente de este. >> >>En la imagen de abajo pueden ver la forma que moldeé para la cabeza de Kakuna.  After this, I added more modeling clay to the head to continue shaping the other layers of the body. Notice that I left a thin part for the neck, which is where I will add more material. On the other hand, I made the eyes with black modeling clay, creating slightly elongated triangles with rounded edges. >>Después de esto agregué más plastilina unida a la cabeza, para continuar moldeando las otras capas del cuerpo. >> >>Fíjense que dejé como una parte delgada para el cuello, que es allí donde colocaré más material. >> >>Por otra parte, los ojos los hice con plastilina de color negro, haciendo unos triángulos un poco alargados y con bordes redondeados.  Here you can see that I used two long strips of material, which I stretched as much as I could so that they could go around the thin neck I had left before, as you can see in the image above. >>Aquí pueden ver qué use dos líneas largas de material, las cuales estiré lo que pude para que pudiese rodear el cuello delgado que había dejado antes, como ven en la imagen de arriba.  To clarify, these two strips would be like a pair of collars that I placed around the neck of the figurine. The images below show how I placed each collar. >>Para que me entiendan, estás dos tiritas serían como un par de collarines que coloqué alrededor del cuello de la figurita. En las imágenes de abajo se visualiza cómo iba colocando cada collarín. ||| |-|-| Another very important part of this Pokémon's body is the abdomen that all insects have. In Beedrill's case, this is where its stinger is located, but in Kakuna's case, and particularly in the case of this figurine, it is the part that will keep the piece upright. To mold the piece, I made a shape similar to a cone with rounded edges. >>Otra pieza muy importante del cuerpo de este Pokémon es el abdomen que todo insecto tiene. >> >>En el caso de Beedrill, es donde tiene su aguijón, pero en el caso de Kakuna, y muy particularmente en el caso de esta figurita, es la parte que mantendrá erguida a la pieza. >> >>Para moldear la pieza hice una forma similar a un cono con bordes redondeados.  Notice in the image above that the lower part of Kakuna's body, up to where I had finished it, is concave. I did this so that the conical, rounded shape of the abdomen would fit there. Before gluing it on, I drew a couple of horizontal lines to represent the lines that this type of insect usually has in these areas. In the image below, you can see what Kakuna looks like with all the pieces already glued together. >>Fíjense en la imagen de arriba que la parte inferior del cuerpo de Kakuna, hasta donde lo tenía hecho, está como cóncavo. >> >>Esto lo hice para que la forma cónica y redondeada del abdomen pueda calzar allí. Está forma, antes de pegarla, le hice un par de líneas horizontales para representar las líneas que este tipo de insectos suele tener en estás áreas. >> >>En la imagen de abajo pueden visualizar cómo se ve Kakuna con todas las piezas ya pegadas.  The last two things I did were: first, I placed a tie-like shape, also made of plasticine, in the middle of the body. Second, I created a base to hold the character in place. I did this by cutting two small pieces of cardboard and placing an L-shaped wire between them, which would keep little Kakuna upright. >>Lo último que hice fueron dos cosas. Primero le coloque una suerte de forma similar a una corbata, también hecha con plastilina, en medio del cuerpo. >> >>Lo segundo fue crear una base para poder colocar al personaje. Esto lo hice cortando dos trocitos de cartulina entre las cuales coloqué un alambre con forma de L, el cual serviría para mantener erguido al pequeño Kakuna.  Once the base was dry, I simply attached the figurine to the base with the wire, using a little glue to secure the piece better. >>Una vez seca la base, simplemente clavé a la figurita en la base con el alambre, usando un poco de pegamento para fijar mejor la pieza.  ### This completes the second stage of this Pokémon. ### Below you can see a series of photographs of the final result: >>##### De esta manera, la segunda etapa de este Pokémon quedó terminada. >> >>##### A continuación pueden ver una serie de fotografías del resultado final:     Well, friends, that's all for now.
