Life is full of the need to do so many small things, *I'd say insignificant things but many are not that at all*, and it seems there's less and less time to do them, for me at least. Because I have to travel away from home for work for days on end I have to be time-efficient when I'm home especially because I don't want to waste time that could be better spent with my girlfriend or in other such pleasurable ways; fitting a lot into a little is what I try to do but sometimes fitting them in means doing them when I'd least like to, like today. *** *** Today I'm zigging when my girlfriend is zagging - we have gone separate ways to cover more ground. It sucks because today is a day off work for me and running errands is not what I'd prefer to be doing, but life sometimes conspires against our best intentions or hopes. It's 10:50 and I just drank that coffee in the image after running a few errands at the mall: Podiatrist, my health insurer, the motor vehicle/licensing office, the book store and optometrist were all within walking distance and all have been completed. After this post I'll be off to the doctor, chemist and the gun shop before meeting my girl for lunch, catching up on how her day has been and moving on to finish the last two errands on my list, the hospital and my mechanic's workshop. Exhausting? Nope, just frustrating to have to burn a whole day off in this way. But that's life sometimes right? Tonight we have a date-night planned, a restaurant, and then will watch a few episodes of the show we're currently watching before bed and Tuesday...work. I've been known to whinge about this sort of thing I guess, *sort of whinging now I suppose,* but in truth it's just a part of life; the need to get things done, to be responsible and to take ownership. Life depends on it in my opinion and because I value my life, *want to live it the best I can*, I do what's required when it's required. *** Do you ever have "errand days" where you try to cram as much of the boring but necessary stuff into? Is it a planned day like mine due to a heavy schedule or do you do them randomly? Let me know your strategy in the comments...if you want to.
