Handwritten - An experiment

*** *** Handwriting isn't quite dead yet but, arguably, it's (generally) dying a slow death. People type on computers, tablets and phones, dictate notes and bodies of text and so few write with their own hand any more and if they do it's only a few words here and there. Worse still is people don't even use their own brains to write, they use AI. I'm a handwriting guy, meaning I still take notes on paper; my writing isn't very neat, quite terrible in fact, but I can (mostly) read it and prefer to take handwritten notes when on the phone, in meetings and in various other situations such as writing in my quote book; looking at my phone constantly is something I hate doing and I jump at any chance I get not to use my phone or computer - so handwriting it is. Handwriting is a perishable skill, if not used it will diminish, as will the skill-of-thought that's behind what's handwritten; maybe less of an issue when one's handwriting is as bad as mine, but still not a good thing. Along with diminishing skills in handwriting comes the same with spelling and punctuation, an area that is often terrible to begin with in many people. With spellcheckers and AI people are becoming even more lazy and less likely to learn to spell correctly or use the right punctuation - *AI I will do it for them.* Sad really. (I hate AI so much) Anyway, I thought I'd do an experiment on you folks and hand out some comment votes along the way. All you have to do is read the task below and do the task if you want to. I'll get involved with some commenting on those that have a go in the comments below. #### The mission - should you choose to accept it *** *Write your favourite quote on paper in your own handwriting, take a photo of it and post it in the comments explaining why you like the quote.* *** I'm not sure how many will respond, that's sort of the experiment I guess, and if it's nobody that's ok, doesn't bother me at all, but I figure it'll be fun to see what people's handwriting is like and it'll give me a chance to issue some votes on those who have taken the time to get involved. Don't worry, no one's going to pick on you if your handwriting is really messy and if they do it's because they're a fucktard.
