I'm spending this weekend in a new city.
It's not a city that *is new*.
It's been around for a long time actually - it's older than anyone alive today.
But it's new to me.
Not that I recently discovered it.
I've know of its existence for a long time but I haven't been there before.
So I'm here, *newly arrived in a city that isn't new at all but is new to me despite having been around for a long time, so is old.*

I'm working.
Not right this moment, I'm typing this fucken Hive post currently, but I'm here working, doing my job.
I've been pretty busy (got heaps done) but considering what my organisation pays me to be here - *let's just say it's a fucken lot of money* - I don't mind too much...and I actually get to have a weekend as well so will have a look at the new-old city I'm in, wander about sightseeing (and getting paid).
I work on an expense account when I'm away for work and am happy to say that (within reason) it's uncapped.
This means there's no limit on what I can spend when I'm away working - the organisation pays for it all. It's kind of cool but, of course, I don't abuse it, I'm just not built that way. Besides, it's not something that's new to me, an expense account, it's not a novelty, just a part of the job so I kind of just get what I need and that's it. No fancy $300 dinners and $200 bottles of wine...well, not many of them anyway.
After I finish writing this post, which is going to be really fucken soon, I'm off to dinner with one of the other people from work...who does not have an expense account, but no worries, I have a big one and will spring for the two of us. It could be a big night.
I'm missing home as always, my girlfriend and my cat, but it'll not be too long and I'll be home again. For now though, it's work and some weekend activities that help pass the time.
