Week 22 - Soil

@gardenhive · 2025-09-06 08:01 · HiveGarden

Welcome to Week 14 of the Hive Garden Question!

How wonderful to see art this week - it was a hard one, so we totally respect @markone85 and @actioncats for giving it a go, showcasing Monet - I'm sure everyone's familiar with his impressionistic water lilies, and Jene Visinka, a realist painter who painted farmlife. Both get 20 percent beneficiary on this post for their efforts, so do make sure you upvote to support them and the community.

We also had an entry from @amiegeoffrey, who creatively responded in the form of a story to a piece of art of girls laying around in a garden.

Remember to try to get your entries in earlier than Thursday as often I'm too busy on the weekend to include last minute entries - I'll still curate them, but they might not be eligible for prizes.

Here's one of the Jene Visinka paintings - I can see why @markone85 wants to grow pumpkins, as it's part of the tradition of the area in Serbia he is from, along with wheat. I found it interesting we had a realist and an impressionist!

This Week's Question/s

After last week's arty challenge, this week is back in the soil for a more earthy response.

The soil is the most important factor in the garden, making for healthier and better tasing plants. How do you improve your soil? What is your soil like? Do you use a compost or a fertiliser - if so, share a recipe. You don't have to respond to all questions - it is up to you how you respond to this week's QOTW, as long as it's related to the improvement of soil!
