Today I would like to share the recipe of Seviyan Kheer it is simply madeup of roasting the vermicelli(seviyan) based dessert filled with thickened milk and dry fruits. This Dessert is made in my house on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. Today is the festival of Raksha Bandhan in India, it is festival to make Sibling bond more stronger, in which sisters tie a thread(rakhi) on their brothers' wrists to symbolise their bond. As every year, this time also this kheer was made in my house. The taste & aroma that we get during the festival time is not get on any other day. You must have eaten savoury vermicelli alwats, try this Dessert vermicelli recipe once, it will become your best dessert.

Ingredients📃


• 1 tbsp ghee(clarified butter).
• 7-8 Chopped cashew(kaju).
• 1 tbsp raisins(kishmish).
• 9-10 Chopped Almonds(Badam).
• ¾ cup vermicelli(semiyan).
• 4 cup milk.
• 2 tbsp of Milk powder.
• ¼ cup sugar(can be more or less).
• ¼ tsp cardamom powder.

Heat the kadai, roast cup vermicelli on low flame. Keep Stirring, Vermicelli has tendency to cook fast, be careful otherwise your vermicelli will get burn.

Add the ghee, roast it untill it get golden brown in colour.

In the same Kadai, add the milk,and get to boil stirring occasionally.

boil for 10 minutes or til semiyan softens.

Add the milk powder, keep stirring, this milk powder help to thicken the milk consistency.

now add sugar and mix well. add more sugar depending on the sweetness you are looking for.

Now add all the chopped Dryfruits.Let it cook for another 5 minutes or until the milk thickens and Creamy in texture and changes it colour.

Your Semiya kheer is ready to serve, You can serve in hot or cold both way. If it is there then you should serve it hot and if it is summer then keep it in the fridge to cool. It tastes very delicious both ways.
