For eight days, our streets, homes society Loud with the chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya, Magal Murti Morya!” as Lord Ganesha is welcomed with Loud spiritual songs, prayer, and joy,it is one of the most long festival which is celebrated with full of enthusiasm and Joy almost every street of India, now even across the World. Yet the most moving part of the festival is not its grand beginning, but its poignant conclusion— the Visarjan(immersion of the beloved deity’s idol into water).

It has been 8 days since lord Ganesh came, I did not even realize the time, it passed so quickly. It has been wonderful days of the years, when all family members, neighbours, relatives all together join for the Lord Ganesh Aarti in the Morning & Evening time, Wake up early in the morning and complete your work early because you have to attend the Aarti. These days were amazing when there is positivity and feeling of blessed in the mind.

Chappan Bhog

Chappan Bhog or 56 Bhog, a grand feast of 56 dishes, was offered by the devotee as an act of gratitude and devotion to our god, So in the 8 day celebration, there was a event of 56 offerings to lord Ganesh on one day. So it is not necessary for every person to prepare all the 56 offerings and offer them to God. Whoever has how much, he should prepare that much and feed it to God, but with full happiness and positivity.

Although this event was organized at a big place, there was unlimited numbers of offering to god, some are homemade & some are borrowed from the market confectionery stores,So many varieties of sweets, savoury items, biscuits, whatever you can imagine it all was there in these 56 bhogs. but my wish was that whatever items I like the most, I should prepare them and offer them to God.

All the items were in huge quantity because it is distributed to everyone as prasad. Children enjoy this event the most because they get lots of toffees, biscuits and chips.

Seeing 56 bhogs and so many food items, there is a huge crowd in the pandal and while distributing the prasad, one has to keep in mind that there will be loot and rush.

Dryfruits Dates Laddu, These laddus are made without sugar. I made them with dates and lots of roasted dry fruits and this is my favorite laddu. Till now I had only eaten this laddoo borrowed it from sweet shop but this time I wanted to prepare this bhog with my own hands and I made it for the first time. These perfect laddus were made, they were much tastier than I had imagined, whoever ate them were only praising me 😛

Kaju Modak, Modak is Ganesh Bappa's favourite sweet, Making modak was a mandatory item for me so I thought I would experiment this time and so I made it by grinding cashew nuts but the modak paste had become very thin, I tried to add some Milk powder to make it's consistency thick but nothing working out, so I had to make pedas instead of Modak.

Dhokla, is a savoury sponge dish, it is made with a fermented batter that is steamed to a cake-like consistency. To make it quick and perfect I made it in an idli maker and it turned out really well. After offering it to God, we distribute it as prasad. That is why I made it in the Idli shape as it is easy to distribute.

Sabudana Vada, One of my favorite snacks,it is deep Fried Cutlets made-up of Mashed boiled Potatoes & Sabudana(sago) with some spices. And whatever we offer to god, we do not taste it before, but sabudaba vada turn out to be absolutely perfect, it was crispy tasty and perfect balance of salt & Spices.

It is last day of the Ganesh festival, at the time of aarti, i was crying, why are you going ganesh, stay here forever. But as per the rule, the living being arrived in the universe, have to leave it one day. Everybody in the mandal having mix feeling - Emotional(bappa was going) and blessed(shower his blessings on us).

Ganesh Chaturthi celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed remover of obstacles, son of Shiv and Parvati. Traditionally, the festival is celebrated for one and a half, five, seven, or ten days respectively in different places, culminating in the Visarjan ceremony on Anant Chaturdashi.

It is last picture of bappa, serious it is toughest biee, carries a unique emotional tone. Finally time has arrived to accompany him to rivers where the idol is immersed with chants and songs. It is a unique moment filled with both joy and tears—joy for the blessings we received, and tears for the departure of the beloved deity, i felt like bappa was also crying, you can also see the tears in his eyes too....

Thankyou @gargi
