Saludos hivers. Decía el poeta y escritor mexicano Amado Nervo que "Hay algo tan necesario como el pan de cada día. La paz sin la cual el pan es amargo ". En el mundo actual, cuando se ha puesto tan de moda todo lo relacionado a la paz mental, llegando casi al extremo de sobreponerla sobre cualquier situación que esté sucediendo en el mundo exterior, y es porque la paz es un estado emocional, físico, mental y espiritual, que debe empezar por uno mismo, lo que llega al mundo no es mas que el reflejo de lo que cada uno de nosotros es, y esto explica por qué la paz, en manos del ser humano se ha convertido en una utopía, un sueño prácticamente imposible.
>Hello hivers. Amado Nervo, the Mexican poet and writer said, "There is something as necessary as daily bread: peace, without which bread is bitter." In today's world, when everything related to peace of mind has become so fashionable, almost to the point of superimposing it on any situation happening in the outside world, and this is because peace is an emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual state that must begin with oneself, what reaches the world is nothing more than a reflection of what each of us is, and this explains why peace, in the hands of human beings, has become a utopia, a practically impossible dream.
Si bien al principio tuve muchas ideas para hacer este símbolo tan popular, mas que la propia palabra que representa, ninguna me convencía lo suficiente como para participar en este concurso, todo era muy común y sin un motivo real que pudiese asociar a ese sentimiento pacífico, y quizás por eso me tardé hasta el penúltimo día 🙈jajaja. Finalmente decidí enfocarme en lo que personalmente me produce una gran paz, y es la naturaleza, así que aprovechando que los domingos voy al parque, busqué mi inspiración y mis materiales allí 🍃🍂🌳. Acompánenme y disfruten del proceso.
>Although at first I had many ideas to make this popular symbol, more than the word itself it represents, none of them convinced me enough to participate in this contest, everything was very common and without a real reason that I could associate with that peaceful feeling, and perhaps that's why it took me until the second to last day 🙈hahaha. Finally I decided to focus on what personally gives me great peace, and that is nature, so taking advantage of the fact that I go to the park on Sundays, I looked for my inspiration and my materials there 🍃🍂🌳. Los materiales son muy sencillos, ramas secas, algunas enredaderas y hojas de mazorca de maíz. Con esto quiero decir que la paz no necesita de dinero, poder ni cosas complejas, simplemente necesita de la voluntad para hacerla real. >The materials are very simple: dry branches, some vines, and corn husks. By this I mean that peace doesn't require money, power, or complex things; it simply requires the will to make it real.  Para hacer un círculo con palitos de madera los mismos deben ser flexibles, eso hará que el círculo se pueda armar de forma prolija, sin embargo, mi intención no era esa, yo quería demostrar la fragilidad de la paz y esa sensación de que en cualquier momento algo o alguien puede destrozarla en un segundo, y por eso se me ocurrió usar varias ramas secas y así ir formando el círculo, sin importar que no quedase perfecto. Para tener una idea de cómo se vería, fuí probando sobre la mesa. >To make a circle with wooden sticks, they must be flexible. This will allow the circle to be assembled neatly. However, that wasn't my intention; I wanted to demonstrate the fragility of peace and that feeling that at any moment, something or someone could shatter it in a second. That's why I decided to use several dry branches and thus form the circle, even if it wasn't perfect. To get an idea of how it would look, I tried it out on the table.  Para unir las ramas o los palitos, usé hojas de mazorca de maíz, las dejé un rato en agua para hidratarlas y poder trabajar bien con ellas, y después fuí haciendo las tiras con las manos, no usé tijeras. >To join the branches or sticks, I used corn husks. I left them in water for a while to hydrate them and be able to work with them well, and then I made the strips with my hands, I didn't use scissors.    Seguidamente empecé a amarrar los palitos con las tiras de maíz, con mucho cuidado para no romperlos. Cada palito representa a una persona, una familia, una ciudad, una sociedad, un país, y las tiras de maíz son los lazos de amistad, fraternidad, respeto, empatía y amor que van haciendo posible la construcción de la paz entre ellos, es algo que requiere de paciencia, al igual que la que se necesita para amarrar estos palitos. >Next, I began tying the sticks together with the strips of corn, being very careful not to break them. Each stick represents a person, a family, a city, a society, a country, and the strips of corn are the bonds of friendship, brotherhood, respect, empathy, and love that make peace possible. It's something that requires patience, just as it does tying these sticks together.      Al igual que estos palitos, ninguna de estas personas, ciudades, sociedades o países, son iguales, pero ese detalle, en vez de hacer que mi círculo se vea torcido, irregular o incluso feo, le da un estilo mas real y unificador ya que nos demuestra que cuando los lazos son fuertes y sinceros, la paz prevalecerá por sobre todas las diferencias que puedan existir. >Just like these sticks, none of these people, cities, societies, or countries are the same, but that detail, instead of making my circle look crooked, irregular, or even ugly, gives it a more real and unifying style, since it shows us that when ties are strong and sincere, peace will prevail over all differences that may exist.    Para la parte interior de este símbolo iba a usar tres palitos, pero cuando me pongo a revisar las ramas que había traído del parque, me dí cuenta que una de ellas ya tenía esa forma de V invertida así que, la naturaleza ya me tenía esa parte lista jejeje. Usé una rama para el centro del diseño, la amarré con las tiras de hojas de maíz y después hice lo mismo con la otra rama. >For the inside of this symbol, I was going to use three sticks, but when I started looking at the branches I had brought from the park, I realized one of them already had that inverted V shape, so nature had that part ready for me, hehehe. I used one branch for the center of the design, tied it with strips of corn husk, and then did the same with the other branch.      Corté las tiras sobrantes con una tijera y recorte los palitos con mucho cuidado usando un alicate. >I cut off the excess strips with scissors and carefully trimmed the sticks using pliers.   Iba a dejar este símbolo así, desnudo y seco, para representar el estado actual de la paz mundial y de lo absurdo que sucede frente a nuestros ojos y los del mundo entero sin que nadie lo detenga 😤😡😢, y que personalmente, me parece una absoluta vergüenza para nuestra condición como humanos. A pesar de todo esto, decidí regresar mi mirada hacia lo que inspira mi paz, la naturaleza, y cómo ella siempre nos ofrece un nuevo amanecer, una nueva semilla que germina, una nueva criatura que nace, una nueva primavera que siempre llega trayendo la esperanza del renacimiento y la renovación, y es por eso que bajé al estacionamiento y corté unas ramas verdes y las agregué a mi símbolo de la paz porque sé que al final el bien siempre vencerá ☮️🌿✊🏻. >I was going to leave this symbol like this, bare and dry, to represent the current state of world peace and the absurdity that happens before our eyes and the eyes of the entire world without anyone stopping it 😤😡😢, and that personally, I find it an absolute shame for our condition as humans. Despite all this, I decided to turn my gaze towards what inspires my peace, nature, and how it always offers us a new dawn, a new seed that germinates, a new creature that is born, a new spring that always arrives bringing the hope of rebirth and renewal, and that's why I went down to the parking lot and cut some green branches and added them to my peace symbol because I know that in the end, good will always win ☮️🌿✊🏻.      Y así quedó mi símbolo de la paz, sencillo y hermoso, como debería ser un mundo pacífico. >And so my symbol of peace remained, simple and beautiful, as a peaceful world should be.
