Yes, that title doesn't make sense, but you know what, after the past two weeks I've had, I find that I care not.
Double yes, I have returned to the ranch in the wilderness. In fact, I returned on Wednesday after hurtling through three states in three different cars through three different time zones. It sure was a trip.
And I have been doing school ever since. With the AWS outage I didn't get any of my course work done while I was driving home earlier this week. But since we were averaging about 11 hours of driving a day, it wasn't like I was feeling like doing school anyway.
And then, it has been an absolute melee since I walked in the door. The hydro is out so I am monitoring battery percentages on the solar, because if it dips below a certain percentage I have to fire up the generator, which it can now because less day light and fall rains means less wattage to capture, and there is a super serious procedure for that, don't want to kerfluffle that up at ALL!
And since I am doing between 9 and 11 hours of school work a day, every day right now, I am so cognitively perky, especially since one of the three dogs I am watching right now ran across my face at 2am and I have been up ever since.
And and I am all alone up here til Sunday, which I normally wouldn't and don't mind, but holy handbags on a haddock am I a bit over to do'd at the moment, on top of being freaking exhausted.
But I don't have it as bad as the poor hubs, because of course our water heater at our farm went out right as we left, so he is down there dealing with that, running his shooting programs, and doing doctor's visits.
I swear we both need like a month sabbatical.
But. I got to see the boy. He's amazing! The kid is now a United States Sailor, a certified firefighter, was invited to attend some engineering school, lost 100 pounds, has the most amazing confidence, and of course is absolutely adored by his very proud family.
And we get to see him for almost three weeks at Christmas it's looking like.
So, even though I am beyond frazzled and more than a bit fatigued, I am feeling a bit festive too, because life is good.
And in typical Generikat fashion, some really weird things happened to me while I was exploring the Midwest, there will be many posts coming, even one about Fargo's SWAT team and Robopuppy!
Yep, I had an adventure!!
And as most of the time, all of the images in this post were taken on the author's really rather adept at scheduling hotel reservations at this point in time iPhone.
