Today I'd like to share a little Universal Basic Income project I've been following for a while now - and actively participating in. I suggest you take 5 minutes to read this and sign yourself up!
Introducing SwiftDemand, a UBI (Universal Basic Income) Project that utilizes cryptocurrency to provide a basic income for every human on earth - no matter your location, how much you earn, or any other factor that enables humans to outcompete one-another for resources.
I stumbled upon this a long while ago, and figured "eh, nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?" At the time, it seemed like it might never take off into anything worthwhile. But I still referred people, I still collected my daily UBI of 100 coins, and I still promoted them whenever possible.
As of a few weeks ago, they finally announced their official token sale - which raised nearly 2000 Ethereum - and made some huge announcements.
They've implemented a "store" where buyers and sellers can meet and exchange tokens for physical good and digital services - a friend of mine bought a T-shirt on there for 9000 SwiftDemand a few months back, before they made these huge announcements :P

They start off by stating the following:
The Swift Protocol is an implementation of a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) that provides Universal Basic Income. The Swift currency is designed to be used as a transactional currency. It has been designed for low transaction latency, the ability to scale to thousands of transactions per second, low transaction fees, and dispute resolution for transactions. Income is distributed on a daily basis to all participants and represents a UBI. This paper is written to give a clear understanding of how the Swift Protocol works.
They give you 100 tokens every 24 hours - and 100 tokens immediately upon verifying your identity (don't worry, no Id required).
And let's say you forget to claim your tokens for a few days? They stack up to 7 days in total, and will even send you an email reminder that it's time to claim - which happened to me multiple times over the past few months!
I've probably earned around 70k+ tokens since joining - absolutely for free. SwiftDemand started their Dutch-style auction at 5000SwiftDemand / 1 Eth when they launched their token sale - meaning that my 70k+ tokens could potentially be worth 14+ eth - thousands of dollars, absolutely for free.
Currently, the only use for SwiftDemand is their internal market for buying and selling, but their roadmap states that they'll be turning these coins into actual tokens on their own blockchain soon - which means that there could be a serious value attached to these on the open market, soon enough.
