Pixel Posting | Summer is Vibe, #13

Hey again Hive !

Another week has passed, and that means… yes, another post from me. Which means you’ll have to read — or at least scroll past — more of my thoughts. Don’t worry, though: this time I’m not diving into any deep emotional updates or long stories about what I’ve been up to.

Instead, I just want to talk about something simple, honest, and beautiful: the season we’re in and the absolutely stunning weather we’ve been having.

Before I jump in, a quick note — these past five blog posts (including this one) were all written during one single creative session. So even if they’re spread out over a few weeks, they’re all coming from the same headspace and moment in time. That means they connect pretty closely in terms of thoughts and themes.

Lately, as I’ve mentioned before, things like ADHD and just general life clutter have kept me inside more than I’d like. I haven’t moved my body enough. I haven’t gotten out enough. But you know what? That needs to change.

Because it’s beautiful outside.

We’re in that time of year when everything feels alive — summer (or late spring, depending on where you are) is in full swing. The sun is warm, the breeze is soft, the air smells fresh, and even the occasional rain is peaceful. It’s the kind of weather that makes you feel like you’re wasting something important if you stay inside staring at a screen all day.

Once I finish writing this post, I’m heading out to a local park to exercise, breathe, and reset. I want to move my body and take care of my mental and physical health. And if you’ve been needing a sign to do the same — this is it.

Please, don’t waste this weather.

I get it — in the winter, when it’s cold and grey and miserable, it’s easy to make peace with being indoors. But when the world outside is practically inviting you to be part of it, ignoring that call feels like missing out on something rare.

Summer is kind of like an aging grandparent — bear with me for a second here.

When you’re young, you spend time with them constantly. They’re a huge part of your life. But as you get older, life gets busier, and you start forgetting to check in, to visit, to appreciate them while they’re still here.

Summer is the same. We love it, we talk about how much we missed it — but when it arrives, we often just… let it pass by. Tell ourselves we’re too tired, too busy, or we’ll go out “next weekend.”

But someday, there might not be another summer like this one. Or one year, we might not even get to enjoy it at all. That’s not meant to be dark — just a reminder to appreciate what you have, while you have it.

If I’m honest, there’s one thing I can’t stand about this weather: that awful moment when your skin sticks to a hot chair. I’d honestly rather get stuck to a bicycle seat than to a warm office chair with that fake leather padding. You know what I mean.

Anyway — tell me how it is where you are! What’s the weather like? How are your holidays or summer days going? Do you have any plans to enjoy the season a little more?

If not — if you're working through the summer or caught up in obligations — let me know what’s keeping you from getting outside. I’m always curious about how people are balancing rest and responsibility.

To go with this post, I’ve picked one of my favorite illustrations I’ve shared on my profile so far. It has that vaporwave aesthetic and just fits the whole summer vibe perfectly. It’s calming, colorful, and easy on the eyes — the kind of thing you’d want as your phone background on a sunny day.

And here’s a little quote — short but sweet — that I heard from a friend and also found online:

"It’s beautiful outside. And that’s the whole point."

If you don’t know what to do with this perfect weather? Invite someone. That girl or guy you’ve been meaning to talk to — ask them out for a walk. Go to the lake. Sit in the park. Watch the sky change. Spend time with someone who matters to you. Closeness matters. Always.

Let me know how your summer’s going — and don’t waste the sunlight. You don’t need a big plan. Just step outside.
