Cuando tan solo éramos un taller de gimnasia y decidimos volvernos un club federado ya era un nivel de independencia como institución. Dentro de todos los requerimientos que necesitábamos se encontraba el nombre y la creación del logo.

Siempre hemos sido partidarios de buscar el camino de la grandeza, la perfección, el mayor nivel en lo que realicemos y con base en eso elegimos un nombre que demostrara ese poder. Hubo varias opciones y la que más nos gustó fue Leonas de Plaza. Leonas haciendo referencia a la Reina de la Selva y Plaza por nuestro municipio. Pero debido a que trabajamos varios estilos de gimnasia y en la artística, parkour y aeróbica deportiva participan también atletas masculinos, decidimos extenderlo a Leonas y Leones de Plaza. Autoproclamándonos como los reyes y reinas de la gimnasia
We have always been in favor of seeking the path of greatness, perfection, the highest level in whatever we do, and based on that we chose a name that would demonstrate that power. There were several options and the one we liked the most was Leonas de Plaza. Leonas in reference to the Queen of the Jungle and Plaza for our municipality. But because we work with several styles of gymnastics and artistic, parkour and sports aerobics also involve male athletes, we decided to extend it to Leonas and Leones de Plaza. Bueno ya teníamos el nombre. Uno con fuerza pero fácil de pronunciar y de entender. Ahora nos faltaba el logo. No queríamos que se pareciera en nada a lo de los demás clubs de gimnasia así que nuestra anterior presidenta Jineth Rodríguez que Dios la tenga en su santa gloria. Propuso usar el rostro de un león dorado el rey de la selva y para mostrar el lado femenino con siluetas de gimnastas delinearían sus rasgos. Lo cual a su vez lo enlazan con la gimnasia. Nos encantó esa idea así que nuestro dibujante Jonathan Ocano lo plasmó en una hoja para no perder la idea.
Well, we already had the name. One with strength but easy to pronounce and understand. Now we were missing the logo. We didn't want it to look anything like the other gymnastics clubs so our previous president Jineth Rodriguez, God rest her soul, suggested using the face of a golden lion, the king of the jungle. She proposed using the face of a golden lion the king of the jungle and to show the feminine side with silhouettes of gymnasts outlining their features. Which in turn would tie it in with gymnastics. We loved that idea so our illustrator Jonathan Ocano put it on a sheet of paper so as not to lose the idea.
El siguiente paso fue mandarlo a volver digital para poder utilizar este logo en nuestros uniformes, implementos y publicidad. Fue un poco tedioso la verdad tardo más o menos tiempo porque no lograban cumplir con lo que pedíamos. Al final la que en su momento fue nuestra secretaria Marhyalberth Cabrera tomó la iniciativa de escanear el dibujo, pasarlo al programa y obtuvimos un resultado no tan profesional, pero más cercano a lo que queríamos.
The next step was to send it to go digital so we could use this logo on our uniforms, implements and advertising. It was a bit tedious, it took more or less time because they were not able to comply with what we asked for. In the end, our secretary Marhyalberth Cabrera took the initiative to scan the drawing, pass it to the program and we got a result not so professional, but closer to what we wanted.
Con este modelo trabajamos durante años. Aunque siempre con la incomodidad de querer refrescarlo y llevarlo a lo que de verdad esperábamos. Finalmente, este año contando con el trabajo de @moisesjohan en el área de producción. Hablamos sobre la necesidad de refrescar nuestro logo para seguir avanzando y superando obstáculos. Y con su desempeño como diseñador finalmente nos entregó el logo que tanto buscamos donde de verdad se muestra el rostro imponente del león y unas siluetas de gimnastas más acorde a la realidad. El nombre del club rodeando este a su vez está creando un círculo de poder.utilizando la tipografia: Ledger-Regular. Con una paleta de colores amarillo mostaza y negro, siguiendo la composición del color simbólico del leon. Tomando en cuanta la simbología del color el mostaza esboza elegancia , sofisticación , energia , Y el color negro la elegancia, el poder y el equilibrio, Espero hayan disfrutado nuestro proceso. We worked with this model for years. Although always with the discomfort of wanting to refresh it and take it to what we really expected. Finally, this year with the work of @moisesjohan in the production area. We talked about the need to refresh our logo to keep moving forward and overcoming obstacles. And with his performance as a designer, he finally gave us the logo we were looking for, where the imposing face of the lion and the silhouettes of the gymnasts are more in line with reality. The name of the club surrounding it is creating a circle of power, using the typography: Ledger-Regular. With a mustard yellow and black color palette, following the composition of the symbolic color of the lion.
