Hello everyone, friends of Splinterlands !!!
In these days, the sale of the new card, available exclusively with Voucher tokens, has started: I am talking about Dar 'Gottem' Gearnut, a legendary card with the dual element, Life, Dragon, and belonging to one of the fiercest bloodlines of Splinterlands, the Gnome, for a cost of 1050 Vouchers.
The card is definitely exceptional, and stands out as one of the "heaviest" ever, with a mana cost of 14, and at level one, an impressive 20 Health points, a number never seen before, combined with a not so high melee attack of 2, but equipped with 3 Armor and 2 Speed.
Of course, 1050 Vouchers, at today’s rate, are worth about 170 Hive, or around 31 dollars, however Vouchers can also be earned by staking SPS, or if you are lucky enough to run a Validator Node License on your account, so the price of this card largely depends on your Voucher token production, which for some may be in the hundreds per day.
Anyway, one BCX of Dar 'Gottem' Gearnut, on the internal card market, is currently offered at about 21,5 dollars, so do your math if you want to grab one of the "heaviest" cards in the Splinterlands world.
But today, in this week’s Splinterlands Social Media Challenge, we will take a look at a much lighter and more agile Conclave Arcana card, which can be useful in many types of battles, even at a low Mana Cap.

Ashen Cindergrim: a common card of the Fire element and the Dwarf Bloodline, with a cost of 4 mana, starts at level one with rather low stats, namely 1 Magic and Speed, and 2 Health, combined with the Opportunity ability (the card attacks the opponent with the lowest Health), which does not really change much for a monster with magical attack.
At level 3 upgrade, it finally reaches 2 Magic attack, and at level 5 it gains the new ability Painforge, followed by Silence at its final upgrade level, number 10.
Its market price is very low, only 0,04 per BCX, which however does not push it all the way to the bottom, meaning that maybe players still see a, although minimal, potential in this monster.

In this battle with a Mana Cap of 47 and no rulesets, I relied on one of my usual teams with small changes at the end of the formation: with Lorkus as Archon, I placed Chaos Golem in the Tank position, followed by Gramel The Hunger, Rush Townsend, Ashen Cindergrim, Baron Fyatt, and finally, Forked-Tongue Sage.
My opponent instead chose the most popular Archon in the Modern format, Eternal Tofu, placing Janni Rebel in the first position, followed by Bera Dallin, Mana Warden, Meriput Magician, Meriput Mossmender, and Nimbledook Explorer.

My opponent’s formation was very well balanced in terms of selected monsters, but perhaps the weakness was that they were all at level one, while I was able to showcase cards at level two and three upgrades.
As for Ashen Cindergrim, there is not much to say, it performed excellently in this battle, taking advantage of the +1 Magic boost from Lorkus, which allowed it to reach 3 attack, and to deal the finishing blow to more than one opponent monster, thanks to its Opportunity ability. However, I must also add that I was extremely lucky, since being placed in the fourth position, Ashen was never hit.
In fact, this is the weak point, a very weak one, of Ashen Cindergrim, its very low defensive stats, no Armor, and very few Health points, only 2 in the first 4 upgrade levels, just one hit is enough to take it down.
Therefore, it is a card I would only consider for battles with the Little League ruleset, or at most with a very low Mana Cap, but in any other type of battle it risks becoming a shooting star disappearing at the first blows of the first round.

In questi giorni, è partita la vendita della nuova carta acquistabile esclusivamente con i token Voucher: sto parlando di Dar 'Gottem' Gearnut, carta leggendaria dal doppio elemento , Life-Dragon, e di una delle bloodline più agguerrite di Splinterlands, ovvero la Gnome, per un costo di ben 1050 Voucher.
La carta è sicuramente eccezionale, e si presenta come un delle più "pesanti" di sempre, con un costo in termini di mana di 14, e, al primo livello, con ben 20 punti Health, numero mai visto prima, uniti ad un attacco non eccezionale di 2 di melee, ma dotato di 3 di Armor e 2 di Speed.
Certo, 1050 Voucher, con il cambio di oggi, equivalgono a circa 170 Hive, ovvero circa 31 dollari al cambio di oggi, però i Voucher si possono conquistare anche tenendo in staking gli SPS, oppure se avete la fortuna di eseguire un Validator Node License nel vostro account, quindi il prezzo di questa carta dipende molto dalla vostra produzione di token Voucher, che per alcuni potrebbe essere di centinaia al giorno.
Comunque un BCX di Dar 'Gottem' Gearnut, sul mercato interno delle carte, viene oggi offerto per circa 21,5 dollari, quindi fate i vostri calcoli se volete accaparrarvi una delle carte più "pesanti" del mondo Splinterlands.
Ma oggi, nel Splinterlands Social Media Challenge di questa settimana, vediamo una carta Conclave Arcana molto più leggera ed agile, che può tornarci utile in tanti tipi di sfide, anche a basso Mana Cap.

Ashen Cindergrim: carta comune dell'elemento Fire e della Bloodline Dwarf, per il costo di 4 mana, parte dal primo livello con stats abbastanza basse, ovvero 1 di Magic e Speed, e 2 di Health, unite all'abilità Opportunity (la carta attacca l'avversario con meno punti Health), che non cambia un granche la situazione per un mostro che detiene l'attacco magico.
Al livello 3 di potenziamento, finalmente raggiunge i 2 di attacco Magic, e al livello 5 ottiene la nuova abilità Painforge, a cui poi si aggiunge Silence all'ultimo livello di potenziamento, il numero 10.
La quotazione sul mercato è bassissima, solo 0,04 per BCX, che però non lo fa sprofondare in ultima posizione, il che vuole dire che forse i giocatori vedono un, seppur minimo, potenziale in questo mostro.

In questa sfida con Mana Cap di 47 e senza rulesets, mi sono affidato ad una delle mie solite squadre con dei piccoli cambiamenti infondo alla formazione: con Lorkus come archon, ho messo Chaos Golem in posizione Tank, seguito da Gramel The Hunger, Rush Townsend, Ashen Cindergrim, Baron Fyatt, e per finire, Forked-Tongue Sage.
Il mio avversario, invece, ha scelto l'archon più quotato del formato Modern, ovvero Eternal Tofu, schierando Janni Rebel in prima posizione, seguito da Bera Dallin, Mana Warden, Meriput Magician, Meriput Mossmender, e Nimbledook Explorer.

La formazione del mio avversario era molto ben assortita in quanto a mostri selezionati, ma forse aveva il difetto che erano tutti al primo livello, mentre io ho potuto sfoggiare carta anche al secondo e terzo livello di potenziamento.
Per quanto riguarda Ashen Cindergrim non ho molto da dire, si comportato benissimo in questa sfida, sfruttando il +1 in Magic donato da Lorkus, che gli ha permesso di arrivare a 3 di attacco, e a dare la stoccata finale , a più di un mostro avversario, grazia alla sua abilità Opportunity; però bisogna anche aggiungere, che ho avuto la grandissima fortuna, che, rintanato in quarta posizione, Ashen non è mai stato colpito.
Infatti è questo il punto debole, anzi debolissimo, di Ashen Cindergrim, i suoi bassissimi stats difensivi, senza Armor, e con pochissimi punti Health, solo 2 nei primi 4 livelli di potenziamento, basta solo un colpo per mandarlo al tappetto.
Per cui, è una carta che terrei presente solo per le sfide con il ruleset Little League, o al massimo con un Mana Cap bassissimo, ma in qualsiasi altro tipo di sfida rischia di diventare una meteora che sparisce ai primi colpi del primo round.
