  Hoy les traigo un proyecto el cual fue mi primer intento de porta tijeras, el cual al final les comentaré. >So, today I'm sharing a project that was my first shot at making a scissor holder. I'll tell you how it ended up later on.
 Lo especial de este porta tijeras es que estaba super enamorada de este corte se tela, fue el retazo que llegó a mis manos y lo guardé para usarlo en algo que pudiera usar a diario. >The really special thing about this scissor holder is that I was absolutely in love with this particular cut of fabric. It was a scrap that landed in my hands, and I saved it specifically to use for something I'd use every day.
   Así que corté las piezas que necesitaba en dos tipos de telas, fieltro y entretela tomando la medida de la tijera, busque 1 broche, bies y a coser. >So, I cut out the pieces I needed from two types of fabric – felt and interfacing – taking the measurements of the scissors. Then I grabbed a snap, some bias tape, and got to sewing.
  Primero cosí cada parte tipo sándwich tela principal con la entretela, fieltro y la tela secundaria, seguido le cosí un pespunte en la parte que identificaría la tapa. >First, I sewed each part like a sandwich: the main fabric with the interfacing, then the felt, and the lining fabric. After that, I stitched a topstitch along the part that would be the flap.
  Seguido ajusté con alfileres todas las piezas y cosí por todo el borde. >Next, I pinned all the pieces together and sewed all the way around the edge.
    Posteriormente proseguí a coser el bies primero con un pespunte para luego proceder a coser en la máquina y no tener que coser y descoser. >After that, I went ahead and attached the bias tape. I did a stay stitch first, and then machine-stitched it down so I wouldn't have to keep redoing it.
    Seguido corté un rectángulo de tela, doble planché y cosí, seguido ajusté una pequeña argolla y la cosí a la parte posterior del porta tijera. >Alright, so after that, I cut out a rectangle of fabric, you know, folded it over and ironed it flat, and then sewed it up. After that, I just attached a little ring and sewed it onto the back of the scissor holder.
    Para finalizar cosí a mano cada parte de los broches y listo al medir mi tijera que creen sentí frustración pues dicho porta tijeras era mas pequeño que mi tijera, el error fue que tome la medida de la tijera en posición recta y no oblicua o inclinada que es la forma como va en dicha funda. >Finally, I hand-stitched each part of the snaps, and voilà! When I went to try out my scissors, guess what? I was so bummed because the holder was smaller than my scissors. The mistake I made was measuring the scissors straight, instead of diagonally or at an angle, which is how they sit in the case.
 Más no todo salió mal pues aunque a mi tijera no le sirvió a la tijera de mi querida amiga y compañera en este viaje de la costura le quedó perfecta **como hecha a su medida**, fueron casi dos horas de trabajo arduo, del cual obtuve un nuevo conocimiento. >But hey, it wasn't a total loss! Even though it didn't work for my scissors, it fit my dear friend and fellow sewing enthusiast's scissors perfectly **like it was made just for them** It was almost two hours of hard work, and I definitely learned something new from it.
