God created us to worship him alone, but it's obvious many people make images and worship them and some allow material things to take God's place in their heart. Not only those that worship images are worshipping idols, if we love material things more than the things of God, it's part of worshipping idols.
The book of II Corinthians 6:14-17 made us to understand that light and darkness have nothing in common, wherever there's light darkness fades and wherever there's darkness, light disappears. The temple of God have nothing to do with shrines, it has no agreement with the idols. We should always remember that our body is the temple of God, we should not have anything to do with the idols.
Our God is a jealous God and his glory should not be shared with anyone not to talk of a mere idol that have eye but can't see, nor speak, nor walk, that was carved by man whom he created. In the book of Exodus 20:4 God warned us not to make any graven image or any likeness of thing that is in heaven or in earth.
God does not listen to idol worshippers, as christians we should not have any other God apart from the true God. God desist idol worshippers and those who carve and worship them go against God's will and commandments thereby making God to turn away from them.
