Free but not free
Anyone who has used Hive should know about Resource Credits. It makes some things "Free" but "Not Free". A good example is making a new Hive account. You can buy an account for 3 HIVE or you can spend Resource Credits to make the account. The Resource Credits regenerate slowly over time so if you have enough staked HP you can make new usernames which cost nothing. Except time
I'd like to use a similar mechanic for cheering on dragons in this community. You send GAMER tokens to the @gldragon account to get SPORTS tokens. You send SPORTS tokens to your favorite dragon and they will be returned over time so you can send again...and again...and again. Overall cost: Nothing.
However, the more GLD tokens you have the more GAMER and SPORTS tokens you will receive. Of course you could head over to tribaldex or hive-engine and just sell them off but honestly they aren't worth much.
The bot is ready to watch for cheering!
As you can see I've had two pioneers @johnny023 and @gwanjberg send off gamer tokens to the @gldragon account and in return they received SPORTS tokens and GAMER tokens back to them.
However, those were done manually which was kind of a pain. I'm looking to automate the whole process and it all started with a bot to watch the account (which is the screenshot up above). Now watching the account is automated. I'll work on another bot to automate returning the tokens.
But why send tokens in the first place? Well, it will be returns from investments AND interest from the community which will determine which dragons win battles, which dragons get increased rewards, and which users get rewarded for activity every month.
I like to think of it as :
You support your Dragon so they get stronger.
They support you when they are stronger :)
Yes I know I have work to do
Right now the actual battle mechanics aren't actually setup. I know that there aren't any leaderboards or battles to watch ...
But as a sneak peek here is a little view of what I'm working on.
Dragons with individual stats that grow in different ways depending on how they are trained.
Weekly battles where every dragon has a chance of winning and even "Weak" dragons like Swiftwind have a chance of winning
With enough variation that the truly strongest and weakest dragons don't emerge until time plays out. For example if you look at the first week :
Flameheart was 6W - 0L and looked to be the strongest. Swiftwing was 1W - 5L and looked to be the weakest.
But if you look over 100 seasons?
Goldscale who came second in our weekly was first overall. Frostbite who came 8th in out weekly was actually the weakest dragon by a lot.
And that is where cheering comes in.
Now imagine that strength comes down to not just the initial rolls but by returns, and user support. Now you have a battling system which is never predictable and where even the worst dragon might do better than you thought and even the strongest dragon is never a guaranteed win.
Another sneak peek
An android / java game which I'm hoping will reward players with GAMER tokens for playing. Which can be converted to SPORTS. Which will allow game players to support their favorite dragon by playing games with them :)
A call to all GLD holders

Send GAMER tokens to @gldragon to receive SPORTS tokens Send SPORTS tokens to a dragon account (any of the ones shown in the image below)
This is still the testing phase so the dragons won't get stronger, however, it will let me know who is active and who deserves a bigger part of the reward pie at the end of the month :)
Thanks for watching.
And for anyone who isn't a member of the Great Little Dragons community or holder of GLD tokens? Reply to this message and let me know you are interested and we will work something out. Or buy a GLD token or two and I'll find you ;)
