Hello, dear creative Hivers, I hope you are all having a good day

Have you had to make the same design or project over and over again within a short time? That is how my week has been going so far, making the same dress style for my church's choir because they decided at the last minute during the last Sunday service to wear a new choir uniform for the upcoming choir concert next Sunday. Being one of the designers in church, my attention was called to advise them on the simplest and unique style they could make within this short while, also considering the usage of at least 2 yards of fabric for a size 8.

After several suggestions, they all agreed on this chosen style, a three-quarter corporate gown with ruffle details on one side of the upper side and uniquely shaped peplum. They will surely look glamorous in their uniforms next Sunday. The ladies will be wearing this, while the men will be adorned in the same colour shirt with a black tie and trousers to match.
I'm not going to lie about not being stressed already, as I hardly have the time to rest, so I could meet up, but still, I'm glad I was opportuned to be their designer, and made sure to give my best to make their dresses. So without further ado, let's get right into the making process.

Cutting And Sewing Process

- I started by cutting out the upper side of the dress for both front and back, I used a normal dart for the left side of the front pattern, and a shoulder dart which I cut through for the rigth side

- Next, I joined the patterns after sewing in the pleats, held in the dart and turned them using their lining pattern.

- Continuing, I drew on the fabric and cut out the shape of the peplum

- I also cut out the lower side of the dress using a pencil skirt pattern

- Then joined the peplum around the waist and also sewed it to the upper side of the dress

- I joined the upper and lower back sides of the dress as well and closed it up with a zipper.

- Finally, I cut out a three-quarter length sleeve, which I sewed around both armhole areas of the dress, and that completes the making process of this beautiful choir uniform dress.
Looking forward to the choir concert, and hope to update their look on that day. For now, let me get back to making and finishing the rest of the dresses.
